agnusdei
I tried to install MVP Baseball 2005 and when I attempted to install the contents of Disc Two I kept receiving the following message well into the installation process, A problem occurred when trying to transfer the file 'E:\data\stadium\yanknite.big' from the media. Do you want to retry to copy the file, or cancel the installation? What should I do in order to install this game?
agnusdei
I keep trying to install the game, but to no avail. My computer is new (a Dell, OS is Vista), but I understand that I should still be able to install the game.....
JoeRudi26
My guess would be a scratched disc.
agnusdei
My guess would be a scratched disc. I think you're right. There are a few small scratches on the disc. Is there any way I may download the contents of disc 2 Online?

Yankee4Life
I was waiting for this guy to bring this up. Bonehead. Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis.

Nice to see you know your Latin. Deo gratias! But I did not ask for "pirated/illegal software". I thought maybe someone would know if EA Sports has a downloadable version available somewhere. Some companies offer through the Internet downloadable versions of their games.
agnusdei
Well if you were looking for just disc 2/complete copy of MVP 05 "online" somewhere, then it most certainly was cracked/hacked first. Unless you were thinking of maybe going the ebay route. If that's so, then accept my apologies. No. I said EA Sports. So EA Sports does not offer a downloadable version? agnusdei
Unfortunately, the game is not sold in any of the stores where I reside, including GameStop and Best Buy.

I took Latin in high school and went to Catholic schools. Now, to help you with your question. EA does not offer a downloadable version of this game. They aren't even selling it anymore. Your best bet is to find someone who's selling it (like I did a week or so ago) and get it from them. Or find it on e-bay. Beware that you will overpay for it. Or, if you are very lucky, find it in a bargain bin at your local computer store. Good luck!

My brother told me that he will try to remove the scratches tomorrow. He scratched a few cd's in the past himself and was able to remove them using a scratch removal kit from Best Buy. If that fails then it looks like I may have a tough time trying to find this game where I live. I checked some of the local stores early this evening and they said they haven't carried the game in a long time. As a matter of fact, they only carry baseball games for consoles. What I also noticed is there are very few games being sold for the PC at the retail level. GameStop only had two small shelves full of PC games and most of them were used. In the meantime, I'll take your advice and see if the game is being sold on e-bay just in case I may need to re-purchase a new copy. Thanks once again! I hope your brother is successful in doing this, I really am because if you have to go to the e-bay route you are in for quite a shock. The price of this game can go for 80 to 100 dollars. And before you ask, yes it is highway robbery. The reason for the high price of this game is because of this site because of all the mods for it. Gamestop is what I was referring to when I said look for the game at the computer store. There's very little PC stuff there but I always check it out because sometimes something sneaks in there. I'll be sure to check GameStop as much as possible. This is off-topic, but did you ever play the old Earl Weaver Baseball game? That was the very first baseball game that I played on the PC back in 1989 (on a Tandy computer bought at Radio Shack!)

I agree. Tony Larussa baseball 2 was and still is a great game. My father bought me a copy just a few months before he passed away. Too bad the gaming companies like EA haven't been making baseball games (for the PC) with the same frequency as they had in the past. I am hoping this will change in the near future. I had just about every PC Baseball game that was ever made back in the day.
