I've checked all over on this site and other boards. Anybody hear about if retractable domes will be open or shut depending on weather or what not? Or will it be like MVP and the dome is pretty much stuck open (or shut) and never opens?

Well, it looks like we're going to have our work cut out for us. Early reviews of the demo are not very good. :(

I'm reading the impressions over at the OS boards and it doesn't sound good. What a shame. Imagine if it's not moddable?

I also now know what a fanboy is... there are people that will defend this thing to their dying breath... If it's bad it's bad, they don't want to hear anything negative.

I dunno. I thought the demo was well received based on comments on the 2K Sports website "Demo impressions thread". Those that played the previous version (2k8) definitely felt this was a much better simulation and much smoother. Not being a 2k8 player, I cannot comment but overall I think most players of the new demo were pleased....Since the PC version is only $19.95 I think it is worth a try.

Certainly with the talents of the MVP modders, MLB2k9 could turn out to be a very good buy for the PC....As we know, PC baseball simulations these days have become rare.

Take a gander at the Operation Sports boards.

Don't get your hopes up that this community can fix anything. We have no clue if we can mod this game.

Aw, come on....You guys can do everything.... Heck the good 'ole USA wouldn't be in the trouble we are in now, if Uncle Sam would turn the MVP Modders loose! :):D

Yea, I read the impression thread at OS too. I can't believe those type of guys. Honestly, it's pathetic.. to have such a close minded view of a video game. It's just a game..

Reading through the OS forum, the reviews seem mixed, but maybe a little more on the positive side than not. Obviously there's the matter of individual player's preferences and what they think VC should have focused on vs. what they see in the game. I'm optimistic. Plus, the demo is 3 innings and some options are locked (like the difficulty I think), so that probably affects some of the reviews as well.

I do have one question that I haven't been able to find an answer to. Xbox rosters will be updated regularly (daily? weekly?), and I'm wondering if PC users will get this option too. I know they said the PC version has no online capability, but maybe they mean no online peer-to-peer playing like MVP has, but the rosters will still update? I wonder if it will be like when you start up Madden and there's the option to check for updates. Anyway, my 2 cents.

There are no online capabilities of any sort for the PC version. So no roster updates at all from 2K. Users can create their own and upload them to a server and you can download them, but nothing official from 2K.

I got into this hype about a week ago. I just got a new computer with an HD monitor and would love to play baseball on it.

I've played MVP 05 with all the mods from here, but this seems like a welcome change. The fact that rosters will not be updated is no big deal guys because the people in this community do 1000% better job at making an accurate roster. We know our baseball teams better than anyone. So I would not be concerned about the rosters. They will be taken care of by us. The PC version opens up the door to mods. Since we don't have the game yet, it is not known whether anything can be modded. We can only speculate as to what can be modded for what we've hear or seen from the NBA 2K9 version.

If it can be modded, I'm sure some of our members that are good at creating utitlities to extract the files can look into it. It will take a while. One of the good things I've always bragged about mvpmods is how the members have different strenghts. Some are good at computer code while others are good at graphics while others are good with changing vectors to stadiums and what not. You put all that together and we can surpass the NBA2k9 community of modders because I doubt they can do what is here.

Let's give it the month of March to work on rosters. Let's give it a few more weeks to find extractors of files. And let's give it a few more weeks for any mods. Time. That's the key.

its a def. improvement for ME from last year and previous versions, although the last full version i played was 2k7. things were a tad difficult for me as i had no clue what buttons did what, but i love the in game menus. ill play another game here in a bit and see what happens. it seems more mvp'ish if you know what i mean. and pitching is WAY easier than last year, thats the thing i was worried about in this years game. i can actually get a pitch over the plate without it going 500 feet lol.
