Homer
here's some food for thought...so i was browsing through Baseball Mogul 09 the other day. turns out that all the players have splits for their status, unlike Baseball-Reference that only has splits up to 1956. the question is, is anyone able to tap into that database in a manner that will allow it to be easily used for generating players? would it be remotely possible to make a little program that will do something like allow you to look up a player, and select the years you want to grab their stats from, and then generate player ratings for MVPedit based upon that? stecropper
Homer, Excellent observation and one we explored in detail awhile back. Tywiggins helped us look into this and we were unable to crack this database as it appears in the game. As I recall the database apparently runs through some built in hard coded logic that derives how it is represented on the screen and thus we were unable to determine much of anything from it so after a fairly extensive investigation we killed the project. It would have been a great find had we been able to pull gain access to the individual players information ---- especially the pitcher's data.
