I just love those screenshots and the way you make them look. Good win!

I remember that Eric Solderholm guy. He played for the Twins before he went to Chicago. He was a good hitter. The White Sox around this time period had a good hitting team.

Thanks, man. Yeah, I remember Solderholm too, but just barely. But you're right, the White Sox were a good hitting team, Chet Lemon, Lamar Johnson, and Claudell Washington wreaked havoc where ever they went. They just didn't have the pitching, finishing 71-90 in 1978.

On a side note, the Yankees actually swept this series with the White Sox, and owned them the entire season, finishing the season against them at 8-1.

Just be grateful there are only a handful of pitchers that throw it! :)

I hate facing knuckleball pitchers as well.

Your dynasty has made me want to play the classic mods. I have downloaded the '78 and '88 mods.

You're right, rick. But something (could be coincidence) I've noticed so far already is that I've seen more palm ball pitchers so far too, at least compared to the dynasties I've previously played. That being said though, the palm ball is not nearly as tough to hit, it's just the speed change that keeps me off balance. As I've always said, I love the challenge.

And yeah, these Classics are great, the guys did a fantastic job all the way around, and I'd love to see someone else present something from a different time era. I know people have done them before, I just haven't really paid attention until I started this one. If you do, I'll definitely follow. Good luck. :)

There's more than those two years you know! Hory's 1994 mod is a good one too. Also 1951, 1956, 1961, 1964, 1967, 1969 and the grandaddy of them all, Total Classics.

And I bet I missed some.

I'd love to see someone present a '61 dynasty, maybe all in traditional black and white, some old time newspaper clippings, maybe track Mantle and Maris throughout the season. I've always wondered how it (homerun race) would have ended up had Mantle not been injured and lost 12 or 13 games of the 1961 season.

Either way, Mantle was always a class act, and was proud to share the spotlight with Maris when he broke Ruth's record. Here's a quote from Mantle displaying his own modesty:

"During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at-bats a season. That means I played 7 years without ever hitting the ball." - Mickey Mantle

I've got the '51 mod, 94, latest Total Classics and the walk through history one as well. I have never got round to downloading the 78 or 88 mods.

69Yanks actually played a full season '61 dynasty about 3 years ago. Here's a link: http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?showtopic=20303

The presentation is nothing like yours. It's mainly a series of updates on the HR race between Mantle and Maris.

I personally think the palm ball is easier to hit compared to the change up. I'm not sure whether it was the era where off speed stuff like the palm ball was a popular pitch because i wasn't around to see it.

I don't think i will start a dynasty just because i want to see how far i can go with my Red Sox one. My aim is to have season 2 finished by the All Star break and then be well into season 3 by the end of the real season.

The only difference I could see was that the palm ball had a little movement to it, compared to the changeup. Not really sure if it was an "era" thing either, and maybe it's just a coincidence so far, but I'm seeing it more in this dynasty than and other season I've played.
