rkrnfan
Hey guys, so I decided to pull out the 2005 base starter kit for MLB Showdown. It's a card game that was made by Wizards of the Coast up until the 2005 edition. I think it would be awesome to figure out the formula for the player values, so you could make your own cards for new players and such. I only have 10 different batter cards, so I tried to figure out the formula with those in excel. I wouldn't normally undertake this, but I'm still on winter break. I haven't had a chance to look at pitcher stats or values yet. Here's what I've got so far: On Base # -- use real batter's OBP for this 9 -- below .326 10 -- above .326 11 -- above .342 12 -- around .393? 13 -- above .414 BB range on card -- real player's custom stat (PA/BB) 3 -- 13-15 4 -- 9-13 5 -- 6.8-8? 6 -- 6.7 and below? 1B+ range -- real player's SBs 0 -- 1-6 1 -- 7-20 2 -- 21-33 3 -- 34-40 4 -- 41+ 2B range -- real player's 2Bs 1 -- 7-11 2 -- 12-25 3 -- 26-50 3B range -- real player's 3Bs 0 -- 0-6 1 -- 7-20 HR range -- real player's HRs 0 -- 1-3 1 -- 4-8 2 -- 9-46 SO range -- real player's custom stat (PA/SO) 1 -- 6.8-13 2 -- 3.8-6.7 3 -- 0-3.7 I'm kinda stumped on the regular 1B stat. I've tried to figure it out by guessing the outs (also guessing the GB and FO outs, which seems to be a combined range of 4) and then the 1B. I've only worked on this for half a day. Does anybody have any suggestions for different stats or values? Can anyone direct me to other 2005 cards?
