Video Card For Mlb2k9 For Old Pc

Recommended Posts

I probably shouldn't do this, since it will only skyrocket the eBay prices on them, but for those of us with motherboards with AGP slots on them (no PCI-E) we will need new cards to play MLB2k9.

The last card that nVidia put out for the AGP is the geForce 7900 GS 512 MB. If you plan to play any game in the next two years, this will be the bear minimum requirement. It SHOULD work on any AGP board that is out there and SHOULD make the game playable. I'm in the process of purchasing one for my unit to see if it will make the game playable but I should warn you, they run $150.

That might be too pricey for some to play a game some people generally don't like.

I bought a GeForce 7600 GS a few months ago for about $100 and MLB 2K (at least the demo) looks fine on it.

True, it fits within the 'minimum' requirements part of the game however I'd suggest that if someone is going to buy a new video card for an AGP MOBO, they'd be better off maxing out with the last available model.

But yes, pretty much any card with Shader 3.0 will run the game.
