Greg Putnam
I completely agree... I wish someone could just take the programming and coding from MVP 05 and put next gen graphics on it... Sounds like a pretty good idea. So why don't they?

MLB 2K9 deserves to be bashed. It sucks. If you disagree, you're either blind or you own an XBOX 360 and can't stand to admit that your only baseball game blows horse ****. Dude i own a xbox and i said it sucks, its worst than 2k8 and i luv 2k8 despite some of it flaws. They got rid of the sim and just make it a arcade baseball game. Since i only have xbox and want to play a sim style baseball, MVP was the cheapest way to do it.
jollydodger
I look forward to 2013, when the exclusive licensing agreement is over, and EA Sports will jump back into the fray. I'm certain they've been improving MVP 2005 this whole time, tweaking it to precise perfection....and by the time they unleash it on the Earth, it would have had 8 years of greatness thrust into it!!! When it comes out, none of us will ever interact with another human being as long as we live.
2kCrapBaseball
I really hope the modders come back to MVP. Seriously MLB2k9 should not be invested at all. It would be awesome if mlb the show comes to pc though but i can still dream. Any way seriously these modders would be wasting there on a game that is broken missing features from 2k8. Im praying and hoping for MVP 09 mod plus im going to donate just for MVP 09 mod. I think they should wait until 2k10(hopefully that game wont stink). Plus i just got here lol, even MVP 09 mod will be the last one i will be satisfy and happy to get a chance to play a game i should of bought 4 years ago. joshua444
2kCrapBaseball, have you even played mlb2k9?, how can you say its crap. I've been playin MVP 05 since it first came out but i'm making the jump to 2k9 this year and playing a season with my jays. MVP 05 was great, i played many seasons and had some great games but now its time to move on. I know some of you will still stick to MVP this year, but still give 2k9 a chance its AMAZING...its alot more fun than MVP...the pitching mostly, and the graphics..i've maxed everything out with my Core I7 940 and sli GTX 285 and it looks gorgous. I think the only thing thats crapy is your computer:)...what year is this 1997?:)
jeterfan2
I find it funny that people are fighting for their own games to be modified. It's a tug of war. Oh no! I personally find it disgusting that people other than modders are making a profit out of this game. 05 is a pretty good game, especially modified, but C'mon $60 bucks for a used 4 year old game? Maybe for the Total Classics, it'd be worth it. I think a heavily modified 05 game has a slight advantage over the current stock 2k9 game. I think once 2k9 fixes those major bug issues, like they have confirmed, then all those mvp05 prices will plummet. I personally have spent a ton of time modding mvp04 and 05. I've helped stretch the limits of MVP05 and spent more time modding the game than playing it. This year I'm going to enjoy this game because I don't have to spend a ton of time to make it pretty. It's kind of a relief. Spending days trying to model something really takes the fun out of it. With 2k9, it's fun to mod again in photoshop, rather than thinking about vertex color shading uvw mapping stadium farting. Way too much thinking. And then for someone else to profit?!?!?! For all the people the made money off the modders, I hope MVP05 dies i think its time to move on 2k9 will be good once its modded and the patch comes out to fix the flaws im sorry but i agree with rolie mvp is dead

AHAH i found you again, with your bloody sli GTX 285 -sigh- okay 2 questions 1) how much did just those cost you? 2) can you in all honestly tell the difference ?? back on topic though, i have been (was) playing this series since Triple Play and remember running out and getting MVP 2003 and i am also trying to make the jump to 2k9, i think it has great potential and could really be a good game, heck even a semi decent game if its patched and then modded and some people get behind it. Another off topic but i thought EA was suppose to get the rights back in 2007 now i hear 2012, i just hope they do it right <_<
joshua444
I'm a sales rep for a computer supplier, so i don't pay retail price for my parts..so thats why i can afford it:)...ofcorse i can't tell the difference using 1 285 gtx to 2 of them cause mlb2k9 can't take advantage of sli. I notise the difference when i'm maxing out Oblivion at 1920 x 1200 with AA maxed or Crysis maxed (which i still can't do)...

Thome25
I think you have to give the game (2K9) the benefit of the doubt. 1. I think when Ben Brinkman and the crew promised the 3 year plan starting with 2K7, they should of stuck with that plan cause 2K7 graphic wise was sharp, but instead they went backwards with 2K8. If they stuck to their guns then this game might be something other then what it is today. 2. You can not fault VC, they did what they could with an already broken game. They said that they were going to focus on the "frontend" side of things, and they did. If 2K10 is'nt drastically changed then I think 2K is going to be kicking themselfs for not selling out to EA. The Folks at VC should be on it right now doing whatever they can to have solid product out in 2010 for their loyal, and I mean LOYAL fans. Since you love arcade baseball go and play you mlb 2k crap 09. Go and enjoy your 300 homeruns in one game and enjoy the crappy *** outfield gameplay. Graphics??? Please go and enjoy the fing looney toons dust clouds they put in this crap. Graphics might improve but sure hell no way better than 2k7. Only that this good about this game its presentation that it. So are you telling me MLB2k9 gameplay is better than MVP????? The pitching, batting, Fielding. The only thing mlb2k9 got on MVP is presentation and of course graphics. But since you love graphics so much go ahead and play you 2k9, because gamplay is more important to me and 2k9 doesnt have any gameplay.

BigPaPa
Haha i spent like 30-40 hours working a New Yankee Stadium for MVP 05(got 80% of the thing modeled).... Now the only way i see me completing that is if i can port portions of the 2k9 version to MVP. Peope arnt "Giving Up" on MVP, MVP has been modded to its limits. TheSpungo has taken MVP Unifiorms as far as they can go, Rolie + a few others took MVP stadium Modding as far is it can go. If u took a stock Stadium from 2k9 and did a direct port to MVP the game would crash and burn. The MVP game engine is old fashioned, the shading is terrible, the lighting is atrocious, the game refuses to allow respectable Poly-counts. 2k9 isnt perfect, but neither was the out of the box MVP 05. Your comparing a game tat has been worked on by hundreds if not thousands of people for 4 years to game that has been out less then a month. MVP is still fun, but modders, have nothing left to innovate there is nothing left to improve, even the biggest complaint in MVP, the PBP announcers and Colorless comentators has been cracked. MVP is not dead as a fun little game to play but as far as Modding, its been dead. Weve been reinventing the wheel for a long time in MVP.

I understand you guys want to have fresh start, i can understand that. You modded MVP beyond its peak i can thank you for that. But when your trap in a exclusive deal like us 360 owners and the company puts out crap like this MLB2k9 and i know for a fact MVP wasnt this bad as mlb2k9 coming out of the box there is a few choice you can make. Either cough up over 400 dollars to buy a ps3 and other 60 for MLB the show or buy MVP 05 PC(which i did). And i known most modders want to go mod MLB2k9 cuz its a fresh start I can understand because maybe you guys are getting bored of modding mvp. At least let MVP go out with a bang if 09 will be the last. I can wait for next year probably by then i have a ps3 and the show in my lap.
BigPaPa
Geolink i put in many hours on making a New Yankee stadium, not because i wanted to make you happy inside or because i wanted a bunch of nice posts saying thanks in a thread somewhere. While that would be a nice and much appreciated side affect i did it because im a yankee fan and i want to Play Yankee Baseball in the New Yankee stadium. I can do that now without having to spend countless more hours finishing and debugging my own work. As for MVP going out with a "Bang" it has MVP 08 was a dam good mod and all the Total Classics have a pretty high "Bang" Factor also.
joshua444
2kcrapbaseball, i find MLB2K9 way more realistic than MVP 05. Here's the mistake most of you make before giving this game a bad rap...you probably play on Pro Level and haven't messed around with Sliders so you get a ton of home runs and you feel its arcadey. Play on ALL STAR!!!..and download that Zeros slider or something...now i'm lucky to get a home run, i actually get walks..i couldn't before. Games are close, its exciting and the total opposite of an arcade game. And why the heck are you playing on the 360, god...get a decent graphics card and play on your pc it looks and feels way better.

Dude what are you talking playing on pro wtf, can you make up anymore excuses. Dude i never in my life play a sports game on pro I always play the highest difficulty. I dont know if you have mlb2k8 which is more challenging than 2k9 ever was. And now im playing MVP for first time since it was release and im shock how good this game is gameplay wise. Even 2k9 took out the variation strike zone that was in 2k8. So you expect me to enjoy a half-*** game which there is a editing limit, cant even edit pitcher ratings, no batting and pitching stance edit all features was in 2k8 and all sudden they remove it in 2k9 makes no damn sense to me. I stop upgrading my pc cuz i dont play alot of PC games like i use too. Dude go to operationsports.com where you meet die hard baseball fans saying this game is easy even on the highest diff using the best sliders on that site. Its a homerun fest game,. Please dont let me started on the fielding in this game cuz its freaking horrible. 2kCrapBaseball
This is really all i see from you How the f can you call me whiner when im just proving the facts, I didnt complain 2k7 cuz it had great graphics and gameplay was good with some framerate issue. 2k8 horrible graphics, good gameplay, same with frame rate issue, never complain about it. 2k9 Graphics improved, Great presentation, Horrible Gameplay, Great framerate. And you call me a fing whiner dude stfu man. I praised 2k9 for its presentation cuz its the best i ever seen, but its gameplay its the worst i even play with. Look at 2k7 and 2k8 game which i played and enjoyed why because of their gameplay, im a person who can care about gamplay and careless about graphics. GAMEPLAY>PRESENTAION>GRAPHICS. And the reason im **** because 2k was the only baseball game i can play and this year gameplay sucks. People complain about the dust clouds for god sakes the bat sounds, the organ. I dont really care about those things i care about the gameplay like i said before is broken. Dude if 2k10 has 2k7 graphics, 2k8 gamplay,2k9 presentation and framerate. I will go and just buy a whole new pc for it if 2k10 come out for the pc.
