How Come My Pitching Meter Is On Top Of The Pitcher In Mvp Caribe (wbc Mod)?

Hi,

I posted a topic days ago, trying to get my pitching meter to have a better accuracy zone, yet keeping the same datafile.

Jim825 gave me the datafile, and everything played perfect on my MVP 08 game.

I decided to install MVP Caribe World Baseball Classic 09, which is very fun.

However, when I put Jim825's datafile (that he sent me) in it, everything is perfect except the pitching meter is way too big, and on top of the pitcher.

Here are pictures:

^ What I want

I don't know why, but even though I have the datafile in the correct spot in the WBC datafile folder, the pitching meter is on top of the pitcher.

I want the location and the size to be just like the one in the second picture.

Does anyone know how I can resolve this?

Hi,

You made a topic about this a few days ago. I remember. And because no one replied in there, you decided to make a new one. Right? Wrong. Use the other topic.

EDIT: I did lock this but then I went back and looked at your original thread. It's similar to this and you are talking about your problem with the meter in that one too, but since I noticed that an answer was given to you in that thread about downloading Jim825's datafile to help solve your problem. Either you tried that datafile or not is something I don't know, but I'll unlock this just in case you didn't.

When I posted that topic a couple days ago, I wanted my MVP 08 to have a bigger accuracy in the pitching meter.

Jim825 fixed that, and MVP 08 works fine now. No problems with MVP 08 whatsoever.

Today, I installed WBC MVP Caribe (different folder), I put Jim825's datafile in it, and...

The pitching meter was on top of the pitcher, and it was bigger than the size in MVP 08.

If you look in the pictures, you can see the difference.

This is not the same problem as the topic a couple days ago. That topic was about making the accuracy of the pitching meter bigger, and Jim825's datafile fixed it, and MVP 08 worked perfectly.

This topic is about why the pitching meter is on top of the pitcher, and bigger than normal (in WBC MVP Caribe).

Yes I did. And as soon as I looked at your pictures I saw that you were talking about something else. So I got right back here as quickly as I could and I unlocked it. I was wrong and I'm sorry.

coco - What you have to remember is that you did not ask me for a datafile.txt, which changes just the datafile, but datafile.big, which includes datafile.txt along with a lot of other files. The file I gave you was the MVP08 file with just the bigger pitch meter added to it.

What we don't know is if the MVP Caribe team modified any of the other files embedded within the datafile.big file. It's possible that this could be causing the issue you are seeing. If you extracted datafile.txt from the datafile.big file I sent you and copied it to your data folder, you might see different results.

If I have time, I can see if I see the same results that you do and if pulling out the datafile.txt and copying it to the data folder fixes the problem.

Oh ok, so if I get some sort of .big editor, and copied the datafile.txt inside the datafile.big, and pasted it into the data folder of MVP Caribe, would it work?

You could use EAGraph to extract the file and then copy it over. I just tried a test using the datafile.big file I sent you and then used the default datafile.big file that came with the WBC mod. In both cases, the pitch meter was above the pitcher. Using the datafile.big file I sent you, I will admit that the pitch meter did seem bigger.

In neither instance was the pitch meter on the side, so I'm not sure what you did to get it that way (or why it didn't display that way for me). What pitch view are you using?

I am using the pitch6/bat1 . I just tried using EA Graph. I opened the datafile.big. Then, I imported the datafile.txt to the data folder, and I also decompressed it.

When it tried loading the game, half way it said "Mvp2005.exe has stopped working."

Maybe I did something wrong.

Datafile.txt needs to be compressed. That's why the game crashed.

Ok, I deleted the file that was uncompressed.

Then, I extracted the datafile.txt to the data folder which was compressed.

The game loaded fine, but again, the pitching meter is big and above the pitcher, like shown in the picture still.

Any other ideas (unless I did it wrong)?
