dmac12
I have a question about the team tab how do you change team names been wanting to create a team and others to use in MVP
Jim825
You have to manually edit the team.dat and tstat.dat roster files with a text editor. The team.dat file contains the team names and associated abbreviations. You then edit the tstat.dat file and change any of the team abbreviations that you might have changed. For example, here's a snippet from the team.dat file using in the Total Classics 1951 mod: 00b87e1a2,0 Det,1 Detroit,2 Tigers,3 DET,4 0,5 1,6 7,7 2,8 0,9 0,10 0, 000597433,0 PHA,1 Philadelphia,2 Athletics,3 PHA,4 0,5 0,6 8,7 2,8 0,9 0,10 0, 00b880869,0 Min,1 Minnesota,2 Twins,3 MIN,4 10,5 25,6 9,7 0,8 1,9 1,10 1, 00b87d894,0 SLB,1 St. Louis,2 Browns,3 SLB,4 0,5 0,6 10,7 1,8 0,9 0,10 0, 00b87da69,0 Bos,1 Boston,2 Red Sox,3 BOS,4 0,5 2,6 11,7 2,8 2,9 0,10 0, 00b880a85,0 NYY,1 New York,2 Yankees,3 NYY,4 0,5 2,6 12,7 2,8 2,9 0,10 0, Here's a snippet from the corresponding tstat.dat file: 0 unique_team,1 team_wins_1sthalf,2 team_losses_1sthalf,3 team_wins_2ndhalf,4 team_losses_2ndhalf,; 0005972f2,0 AL,1 -,2 -,1 -,2 -,; 00059730a,0 BC,1 22,2 36,1 0,2 0,; 00059732b,0 CC,1 86,2 54,1 0,2 0,; 00059733b,0 CS,1 80,2 64,1 0,2 0,; 000597398,0 FM,1 30,2 37,1 0,2 0,; 0005973d1,0 HD,1 24,2 46,1 0,2 0,; 0005973f3,0 IE,1 38,2 32,1 0,2 0,; 000597433,0 PHA,1 70,2 84,1 0,2 0,; 000597452,0 BRO,1 97,2 60,1 0,2 0,;

Jim825
OK Homer I have found the files but I can not open the files my computer wont let me What operating system are you using -- XP? Vista? Are the files set to read-only? If you are running Vista, do you have administrator privileges? I'm still running XP, but have heard Vista users say that you have to have administrator privileges to do certain things. You should be able to edit the files with a regular text editor like Notepad or Textpad. I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying the classic mods. That would be totally awesome
