sacker12
Guys, I'm looking at possibly buying a new laptop that will be good for games. Some options that I have looked at have been Asus, a Dell XPS, an HP, and an Apple MacBook Pro. However, I'm looking for a computer that I will work very good and is a good value. More importantly, I want it to be able to play MLB 2k9 and Madden 09 (I am a big sports gamer). Right now, I am stuck playing MVP 08 and Madden 06 on my 4 1/2 year old Dell Dimension 3000 (although I did upgrade the RAM and video card a few years back). What would be some good options? Thanks. TreyP
I have the Asus G50Vt-X5 and i love it cuz its a beast for gaming. For the price of $899 you can't beat it. I play MLB 2k9, Call of Duty, all the top games and everything works great.
sacker12
Yeah, I noticed that on the website. I also saw the G50Vt-X1 on sale on Best Buy's website.
mcoll
the bestbuy isn't on sale, but looks good. ther one little thing that might be a prolbem, if you look at the os, its 64 bit, and i'm not sure what games refuse to work right or play in that bit os system. there are tools that refuse to run in 64pbit os's. the only other thing is its home preium, and i'm not sure if that near ultmaite, or not, which at least the last i knoew home was fine, but ualtmate was still considered the best choice of version. the last part about ultmate over home, its been a little while since i did a compare of the two, do i dont what currentet recommended is, just what was athe time i did compare. dback3
I have the X1 and it runs every game great. I have a Vista 64 and XP 32 dual-boot. Both OS's run the games pretty much the same since the laptop is a beast, especially with the 512mb 9800m gs video card. I actually play 2k9 with 16x AA set through the nvidia control problem and it runs perfect. I have played Crysys Warhead, Far Cry 2, and COD 4 on full detail at around 30 to 40 fps. I stole it from ebay for 725 with receip and everything but even for 949 or 1049 it was originally, it is a great deal. I highly recommend it. By the way, the difference between the X5 and the X1 is that the X5 has a 9-cell battery but has an inferior processor (p7450 vs p8400).
