kenparker23
I just got the game today. Wanted to get a new datafile for better camera placement. I have read how to edit as well as started to use the DF compression utility. Made my changes and compressed my new datafile. Nothing happens in the game. Where does the datafile.txt file need to go? I placed in the directory C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\MVP Baseball 2005\data\datafile. When I installed the game the only file in this folder was a file named "datafile.BIG" Now I have the "datafile.BIG and a "datafile.txt". I am confused as to where/how the game reads the "datafile.txt" Any help would be appreciated. Ken Parker
Maestro23
datafile.txt files go in: \MVPXX\data Welcome to the site.
Jim825
The default datafile.txt file is actually contained within the datafile.big file. The game has an interesting behavior in that it looks in the data folder (the one Maestro mentioned) first to see if there is a datafile.txt (or any .txt file for that matter), and if it finds one, it uses that. If it does not, it uses the one embedded within datafile.big. This behavior makes it easy to try different datafiles because you can simply put a new one in the data folder and try it out. If you don't like it, you can remove it and the game will use the one inside datafile.big.
