fcmonk
I picked MLB2k9 up a few days ago and tried to install it on my pc, and got an error message that one of the files was corrupted. Thinking I just got a bad copy, I exchanged it for a different one and got the same error trying to install that copy. I'm not one of those people who comes onto boards and does nothing but complain about how a game sucks, but if it's not some fault of mine, it's discouraging that you can't even buy a game that works. If anyone has had this problem and/or has a solution, please let me know. If there isn't one and anyone has a spare copy of MVP 2005, that would be nice too! (Or Earl Weaver with updated rosters, but that's just aging myself).
mcoll
first thing i'd try is be sure you dont have anything running in the background if you can help it. anitvirus, firewall programs, that kind thing can cause issues.
MarkB
Run diagnostics on your hardware - specifically, memory and hard drive. If they check out, run a scan on the disc in your optical drive.
hackman2007
What file was corrupted in particular? Does your computer meet the minimum requirements for the game?
fcmonk
What file was corrupted in particular? Does your computer meet the minimum requirements for the game? mlb2k9_20.cab I'm not on my home laptop right now so I don't have the config handy. I tried exiting antivirus and firewall but it didn't work either.
