Annoying Problem

I own two laptops, one of them is down for the count but it is both older than the one I am currently using (to create this very post) and significantly less powerful. The "worse" laptop (Compaq v6000) has a 1.7GHz processor and 1.0GB of ram. While this laptop (Toshiba Satellite U300) has specs that are as follows:

Intel Core2 Duo CPU T5250 @ 1.50GHz ( 2 CPUs), ~1.5GHz

3062MB RAM

******

Both laptops are running windows vista (32-bit) home premium with all mostly the same mods and patches on mvp 2005.

Major mods include:

Total conversion to mvp 08 baseball and total conversion to mvp 94 baseball.

Minor mods include:

stadium/roster/uniform/portait/fielding glove/umpire uniform/fox mlb theme/yes network overlay/music importer for the 08 conversion & just music importer for the 1994 conversion.

I've used schedule changer a few times.

FYI I have no other issues besides the following: The game runs slow/choppy on the toshiba laptop. This is frustrating/confusing because by what I can tell it should have the capability to run better. Anyone have a clue? Thanks so much in advance.

P.S. I've changed to 1x rosters, lower stadium textures, lower resolution, higher resolution (to match my 1280x800 thinking that if that may make a difference, but it made it worse, actually), un-installed and reinstalled both the '94 and '08 mods, tested a clean un-patched/modded mvp baseball 2005. I've even set all the specs to lowest or even off but the problem is exactly the same no matter what res. or quality or features I have on. vsync on or off doesn't make a different either (I've done some reading around the forums before I wrote this, clearly. . .hope that gives me back the points I'm probably going to lose for writing this novel post lol). Pleeaaasse help!!

Same performance with vsync on or off, I mentioned that already. And unfortunately graphics aren't enough to sway me towards the newer and prettier games that mvp puts to shame.

2k9 has potential but its definatly not MVP. They have a good base to start out with and if they continue the pc platform for a few years it will eclipse MVP eventually. For me MVP will always be better since i prefer the classics.

I am actually having the same problem with my laptop. I have Windows Vista 32-Bit, or whatever it is, 4GB of RAM and a processor of 1.6GHz on a Dell Vostro 1500. It is slow a pretty choppy as well. I can deal with it, once i get an xbox wired controller, but it is very irritating.

Anyone know any good remedies, besides buying a new computer...

Unfortunately most laptops use integrated graphics. Not only does the Video performance for integrated GPU's usually tend to be less than desirable, they also uses your memory for video.

Some laptop models offer GPU expanison. If you are seriously considering "beefing" up your laptop, find out the make and model number and check places like new-egg to see what's available.

Judging from the specs you posted the only thing hindering your MVP 05 experience is the GPU.

I also run mvp 05 with the 08 mod on my toshiba satellite laptop with integrated graphics. I had this problem only when i would play stadiums whose files were over around 7mb's. Solved it by replacing the stadiums whose files were larger (ie the modded dodger stadium) with the original. Sucks having to play with an unmodded stadium, but at least i can run it with all settings nearly maxed.

Do as Minnesota suggested. Check the model/specs of your laptop and see if the GPU can be upgraded.

This is the Toshiba, right? Let me do some googling.
