Yankee4Life
I actually love the mod and didn't mean to get everyone stirred up. I just wanted to say I really appreciate the time that was put in by the modders. I know that there is no way to fit every team in the same league from a 100 year span of history, but I just wish the truly great teams (27NYY, 34Cards, 75Reds, 74A's, etc.) were put in the actual MLB and not the minor leagues, but y'all are right that it is a free download and I shouldn't gripe. You sure as hell got a funny way of showing it.
Jayr2112
You sure as hell got a funny way of showing it. Yeah I went overboard with the gripe, but I did say it was very good, a beast, and a masterpiece. Again, I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but it was meant to be a constructive complaint. I will insert foot in mouth now and just play the game.

Jayr2112
Very awesome list there of great teams. Wonder if the 1919 ChiSox "throw" any games if you play 'em? ;)
stecropper
Jayr2112, I am not totally sure about this but I think if you use the TC9 Dynasty version and also use tywiggins Short Season & Playoff Creator tools then you might be able to create a World Series between different level (MLB, AAA, AA, A) teams. At least it might be worth trying .................

Its either gonna be the Black Soxs or the Yanks. I always have this problem lol. Hell if they ever do a comp of 90's and new millenium ill really be stumped. At least it might be worth trying ................. Unfortunately, I don't think it works that way. Here's the information from the readme file that came with the tool: This program will allow you to advance to the playoffs when using a shortened schedule. It allows you to advance to the playoffs by updating the standings based on winning percentage to give each team the correct number of games played. After all of the scheduled games for a league have been played, run the program. Choose which level(MLB, AAA, AA, A) you want to update the standings for. After you run it, all of the teams at that level should have the correct # of games played. (162 for MLB, 144 for AAA, 140 for AA and A) This will let you advance to the playoffs. It doesn't sound like you can move teams between leagues.

I could be wrong, but I thought someone once said with Ty Wiggin's editor you could flip flop teams you have a dynasty with? It may of been Stepcropper but I very well might have mis understood him as well. You may wish to pm him perhaps.
stecropper
Jim that sounds like the Shortened Season Readme you listed - which is just that ......... it gets the Season Over ........... The one that I think, but unsure because I haven't personally used it for this, might let you select teams to play in the Playoffs is the Playoff Creator tool. I do use it to create World Series match ups and somewhat recall it asks which Level (MLB, AAA, AA, A) you wish to select from during the process ---- what I can't remember is "IF" you can select from different Levels for each seperate participating team you wish to select ............ I'm not on my main machine this week so I can't check this out
Royals
Question about TC 9. I just found my MVP 2005 cds. They were buried in the desk. Does anyone have some really good gameplay settings that could be posted. I just put TC 9 on the computer. The work is awesome. I just had Satchel Paige pitch against me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Royals
stecropper
AlexTony --- YES to your question. Tywiggins's MVP Team Changer allows switching from 1 controlled team to another and can be done at anytime even multiple times within the same scheduled day of play if multiple games are played at different times of the day. GREAT TOOL !!! Jayr2112 --- EVEN BETTER NEWS HERE !!! I tested out Tywiggins Playoff Creator and it DOES in fact allow you to create a playoff scenario matching various teams from the MLB Slots with AAA, AA & A Sloted Teams. In fact I am now watching the first playoff match between the '84 Tigers and the '18 BRS as my test. NOW this is a Tool I think few if any of us have taken advantage of. Ty's PLAYOFF CREATOR tool allows selecting a Playoff scenario between 2, 4, 6(?), or 8 Teams (I think 6 teams is an option?). Then it ask which Organization You would like in the Playoffs for each # of the Teams you selected. And then it ask which Team in that Organization you would like in the Playoffs (i.e. the MLB, AAA, AA or A Team by listed by Team Name) Once you run through the above two questions for each of the # of teams you selected (i.e. 2, 4, 6, it Then ask which Team do you want to Control. And then you are done ....... My test Playoffs Matched these teams from various Levels (MLB, AAA, AA, A): 62 SFG vs 69 SEA 54 Cubs vs 86 CAL 62 Mets vs 74 TEX 84 DET vs 19 BOS as you can possibly tell those teams represent every level of team MLB, AAA, AA & A I elected to Control the 84 Detroit Tigers and all appears to work fine from the schedule of games that now appear in the Playoff Scheme. It is tricky because you have to properly match up the TC Teams to their counterpart in the Playoff Creator Tools which list them initially as the current Major League Teams. But once you understand that relationship then it can be done and with successful results. Hope this HELPS & I think it a very good thing to have working since now you can create a Playoff Series with any combination of Teams (2, 4, 6, 8)from the huge arrary available in Total Classics and see how it all plays out. Caution: I have not tested having more than 1 Team selected within a single Organization's system (i.e. MLB, AAA, AA, A) but I would think that would work as well. Jim825
Don - That's great to hear. I looked for the playoff creator yesterday in the downloads section but couldn't find it. I'll have to look a little harder, I guess. UPDATE - Y4L sent the playoff creator to me, so I'll have to check it out when I get a chance.
Jayr2112
I had tried the playoff creator tool and when I mixed different leagues it wouldn't work. It would work as long as I kept all the teams within their leagues, but if I mixed them it would give me a message saying a team had too few players on their roster and it wouldn't let me sim. I could've been doing something wrong, but I will give it another try. If the playoff creator worked, I would totally be stoked. Right now I'm simming a 32 team all-time tournament and it's taking forever because I have to watch the games. By the way, the 55 Dodgers look unstoppable as they pounded Christy Mathewson and the 05 Giants for 19 runs.
stecropper
Jayr2112 --- Keep trying because it does work as I tested it a good deal today ......... You have to use both the MVP Team Changer tool along with the Playoff Creator tool ........... Shortened Season tool is optional as you can always Sim through the entire season to get to the 1st round of the Playoffs ...... You also have to sync up the TC Teams to the way the Teams are listed in the MVP Team Changer list to ensure you are in control of the correct team which is the trickiest part in my opinion ......... You also need to be using the Dynasty Version of TCV9. UPDATE: I also believe it would be impossible to use more than 1 team within a Teams organization due to having to set the selected team from that organization used, regardless of if you use the non MLB slotted team (i.e. the AAA, AA or A slotted team), as the controlled team via the MVP Team Changer tool Also, when I write about Synching up the TC Team with the way the MVP Changer tool has them listed I am speaking about Synching as an example of the 1st 8 Teams as: MVP Team Changer =TC Team Angels = 62 SFG A's = 90 OAK Mariners = 79 PIT Rangers = 96 TEX White Sox = 83 CWS Indians = 99 CLV Tigers = 84 DET Royals = 52 PhlA's In other words in the MVP Team Changer tool Team ID assigned to the Angels is equivalent to the Team ID assigned to the 62 SFG in Total Classics. This can be determined by viewing the team.dat file in the database directory wih a text editor to synch TC's teams up with what the original MVP 2005 team.dat file had which is what the MVP Team Changer tool lists/uses. Hope this makes some sense .............
Jayr2112
Oh, I was not using the team changer tool. Very cool man. I'm about to get it going now. Thanks for the breakdown on the info. I really hope I get this going because my sim tournament is single elim. due to having to watch every game, and as you know in baseball, you need to have a best of 7 series to get any kind of accurate results showing depth of pitching. Thanks again!
Jayr2112
Allright guys, I got the playoff creator tool working great for the TC phase 9 mod. Stecropper was right on with his info on the way it works. The only thing I've seen that you cannot do is put 2 teams from the same 4 team organization, but that's okay because you CAN MIX LEAGUES!!! So as long as 2 of the teams you want to put in the playoffs are not in the same clubs organization, it will work. Be sure to use MVP team changer tool before you set up the playoff matchups and it's good to go. This is great news for the guys into simming tournaments and whatnot. Now you can set up series matchups and not have to watch the game play cpu vs. cpu. By the way, I just finished a 32 team all-time single elim tourney today and watched every game as the 57 Braves won it all. They beat 5 teams to win it all (46Cards, 27Yanks, 74A's, 65LAD, and the 48Indians in the title game). No one could handle Feller, Aaron, Matthews, and company.
