donjn
Has anyone ever noticed that a lot of stadiums have shadows on the right side of the diamond? Someone should remind EA that all parks face Northeast and shadows are ALWAYS on the left side unless your game starts at 10am!!!! Dodger Stadium and Yankee Stadium are like this now. Is there a way to mod this?
stecropper
donjn, This is interesting. I never realized that all Major League Diamonds faced NE. Is this from standing on homeplate facing the mound you would be facing NE or is it standing on the mound facing homeplate you would be facing NE? I would imagine it would be facing the NE when standing on homeplate facing center/ the mound? This information would be helpful to me because I never could determine if the wind was blowing in, out, L to R or R to L during a game. I only know the polar direction which without knowing how the stadium is facing never meant anything to me. Thanks for this insight. Don
olyrunner
For Safeco Field, home plate is in the SW corner of the stadium, so this follows donjn's post. But the sun sets over the 3rd base side, so, unless I'm confused (which is always a possibility) the shadows here should be on the right (1st base side). donjn
olyrunner: Read what I wrote again. I said facing NE, which means, yes home plate is in the SW corner of the stadium. BTW thanks for taking Beltre! ~ghsdkjfhga sk
donjn
The sun sets on the 3b side so the shadows always appear on the 3b side first.
