masternachos
It's me again, Masternachos. I've been using MVPEdit to bring players from the original game into my 07 Mod, which is working... except that, if I import more than one player at a time, when I save the roster to the game, it crashes the moment I go to a stadium, whether or not I'm playing a game that day (in Owner Mode, when I go to 'View Stadium,' it crashes, too). If I change rosters one by one, saving it every time, it usually works. BUT, occasionally it won't, and I'll have to start all over again! Is there a way to fix this? In case anyone is wondering, my goal is to play starting in 2005, but have all the prospects (Longoria, Pedroia, etc.) starting in the minors. So, anyone know how to fix my problem? Thanks! kgbaseball
Couple things I can think of... 1. Take the hist.dat from my recent roster update and put it in your /database folder after you export the roster to the game. 2. Maybe you have too many players in the roster. Go to Find and click Find, how many players does it say?
masternachos
Thank-you SO much for the help. Where can I find your recent hist.dat file? Would I have it in 07, or is it something 'new' you've uploaded? I'll try the 'Find' thing when I get home (I'm not on my computer right now...) Thanks! masternachos
I ran 'Find' and found 3,327 in the roster I want to use (or about that many). It would be great if all my problems were because I was a couple players over the limit!
Homer
what roster are you using? game only allows you to make 3250 players. but if you're using kg's roster, that number increases to 3350 because the all star and futures teams are duplicated players. but if you're over the limit, it typically crashes at the game start up. crashing at the stadium usually means you have a cyberface problem. did you assign everyone a proper cyberface #? masternachos
I am using KG's roster. I'll double-check, but I think everyone's got a 'proper' cyberface. It wouldn't be crashing because a lot of the players 'share' a cyberface right now, would it? Bringing in players whose cyberfaces were replaced with someone else's-would that cause a crash? masternachos
It's just frustrating, you know? Because I have no idea what's going on! Er!
masternachos
Since I couldn't find any cyberface problems, I came up with a clever plan: Import entire teams, one at a time. It worked for Free Agents and the Nationals. BUT, other teams (like the Angels and Yankees) DON'T WORK. I put in the CD, everything loads like it should, then I go to Manage Rosters to see if it worked. This is where the problem shows itself. For several teams, the best players are on the team AND in Free Agents. For example, A-Rod, Jeter and Mariano Rivera are Yankees AND Free Agents. The same crashing issues arise when I go to stadiums. In MVPEdit, those players ARE NOT in Free Agents. What's the Deal?! Could it be, perhaps, that they are on the All-Star Team in MVP07? Please Help! Any solution at all will be of great help! (Except, of course, giving up.) Thanks!
