JoeRudi26
That has to be it. I can't believe I've never noticed this before. Not a big deal, I'll just have to refer to the SavReader when deciding if/when to call someone up.

Not a big deal, I'll just have to refer to the SavReader when deciding if/when to call someone up. Yea, that is what i usually do because i find that it is easier to compare players through SavReader.

Looking forward to it. You might want to consider using the SavReader too, just remember to use the Schedule Updater first. As far as the sliders, there is an Official Slider Thread somewhere on this site. Not sure what forum it is in, but I remember it being pretty in depth. What level are you going to be playing on? Mathew
Oh, what is a save reader? I'm not sure yet I was going to look at the sliders and base it off that what I think would be the most realistic.
JoeRudi26
The SavReader is a program that outputs your stats. If you look up a couple of posts at the Daric Barton pic, that's one of the things SavReader can do, along with lineups, rosters, standings, ect. You can find it in the downloads sections under tools and editors. As far as getting realistic results, everyone plays so differently, there's really no one 'standard' set of sliders that will work for everyone. You may have to experiment until you get the results you want.
Mathew
I'm trying to install the SavReader now I'm hoping it will work. It looks a little difficult to install. Also have you seen this? I was thinking of using it to get the most up to date ratings... http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?autocom=d...p;showfile=4083
JoeRudi26
Yeah, he's made a few of these calculators. I've got them all. Great stuff. Don't forget to download the Schedule Updater too, so you can move your schedule into 2009, it will keep your SavReader up to date as well. It's pretty simple to use. If you need help getting the SavReader going, just ask, I'm sure between most of us we'll get it going for you. Looking forward to that Cub's dynasty too. Edit - If I remember right, you may have to download all the versions of SavReader to get it to work properly. I think there were 3.

JoeRudi26
Here's my sliders, gameplay settings/options, and datafile if anyone wants to try it out. (the datafile is a mixture of mine and other people's from the site, props to those people) I'm getting good results, but will probably continue to tweak them until I'm satisfied. Of course we all play differently, but it would be interesting to hear some feedback. JR_MVP_Pro_Sliders_Datafile.ZIP

Wiggum
Nats fall to 5-10 after losing to the Mets and Casey Fossum and his 56 MPH curve.... Zimmerman goes 7 perfect innings before giving up 3 hits and 1 run. I will upload some picks in the next post
Cavicchi
I just completed the 2009 season playing the Dodgers, and won the World Series, a 4-game sweep against the A's. Don't know why the CPU had the A's win against the Yankees, would rather have played against the Yankees, but the "script" called for me to play the A's. APR
Boy I haven't posted on these forums in a long time! I haven't started playing a Dynasty yet, though I'm getting back into the game by playing once per day. I'm still trying to get a feel for a strong datafile and slider combo. If I can find a combination that I'm comfortable with, maybe I'll start up another dynasty and post it on here.

APR
Good to see you back, APR, hopefully you get something going soon. Any idea who you might play your dynasty with? I'm not sure which team I'll play with yet. Like I said, I'm still having difficulty finding a slider/datafile combination that I'm happy with. I've played four or five games, all of which have been high scoring.
bhaumik_ptl
I have a weird problem in my dynasty or something. I have played up to the month of June, but when I look at the standings it shows that all teams have played a 162 games (84-78, 87-75, 90-72, etc.) I don't understand how that happens. Does anybody know what I must have done wrong. Thanks for the help.

JoeRudi26
Looks great, rick! I'm working on trying to emulate (as best I can) one of ESPN's new line score graphics. I'll upload it a little later. While I'm here though, I thought I'd post my first two games of the A's/White Sox Series. Both games were a dog fight, but yesterday's game (Game 2) was one of the funnest I've played in a while. I thought I had them beat. Everytime I went up on them, they inched their way back to within a run. I couldn't seem to shake them. I got a couple of insurance runs in the top of the 8th and figured it was enough. Not so. They managed to pull within a run again. I bring in closer Joey Devine to try and salvage this one run lead, but as you can see on the Bottom 9th graphic, they quickly jumped on me again. Cole Armstrong immediately got on base, Ramirez sacced him to second, and I was left with facing lefty Scott Podsednick. Problem was, the leagues leading homerun hitter (Jermaine Dye) was on deck. With a man on second, and the lefty hitting Podsednick at the plate, I went with the odds and put him on, hoping I would get Dye to ground into a double play. I gambled and lost, but it was probably the funnest game I've played all year. Game 1: Game 2:
