I Think I'm Going Crazy Here

OK guys.. I'm completely lost. Here's my problem (still)

Has anyone had problems with using the XBOX PC controller with MVP 2005 (08 Modded)?

It seems as though I'm the only one and I feel like I've tried everything. I had Jim actually e-mail me his .cfg file, and used that... still no luck.

Here's what my problems are:

I can't seem to change button three to pitch three. Every time I hit the darn button the menu that lets you rotate through the line-ups/bullpen/fielding postions (double play, etc)/and so on. I have no idea why. I've gone through and changed it in the game, in the .cfg file.. and nothing seems to work.

I changed the controller from the standard (per XBOX PC controller) 10 - 5- 1, to 10 - 4 - 1 and that actually helped make it so I could pitch using "button 3", but there were some other problems (my right joystick now made the guys dive funny and anytime I hit LT, it made the guys dive, which I can work through... but it makes the whole thing lame and I know there's got to be a cure out there.

So my question(s) is this:

1. In the .cfg file, what coding identified the button necessary to bring up that screen I was talking about earlier (the one where you can rotate through bullpen/fielding position/etc). If I can identify that, I might be able to change it to something more appropriate (like button 10, which it's supposed to be)

2. I the .cfg file, what is the coding for diving (that also should be button 10).

I believe the problem has to do something with the additional axis that the XBOX controller has (10 - [5] - 1), because every other configuration offered in the game menu only goes up to four. This would also explain why the diving is messed up... or maybe it wouldn't.

I'm really at a loss here guys. I've seen some downloads for people whom need to make the "xbox controller work with mvp 2005" on the eamods.com site, but the links are broken and it looked like it might have been for apple (although they could have been operating Windows from a pc and I'm not even sure they made the game for mac).

So there you have it... hopefully someone has experienced a similar problem to this and I'm not out here floating on an island by myself.

Again.. I've even had Jim (Administrator) e-mail me his .cfg file which has the XBOX controller configuration in it... and the problem persists.

Let me know... I hope I've racked a couple brains out there.

Original xbox or 360 controller?

I know how to fix both, but I need to know what name it is.

It's a 360 Controller.

I read your response to my other post and haven't had a chance to try it out yet... been super busy.

Just a quick question for what you've prescribed in the other post.

Did you experience the same problems I did with button 3 functioning incorrectly and all that? If so... you'll be my hero if it works.
