Bronx Bomber 15
I thought I left this behind when I ditched HighHeat...anyone else seem to have some sort of "AI" kick in at certain points in the season? After I won my 100th game, I can't seem to hold a lead in any game, and some odd things have been happening when I'm in a postition to win the game like runners getting called out at home when the throw comes in AFTER they cross the plate, tons of throwing errors, my entire pitching staff collapsing in the seventh or eighth inning (even when they throw perfect pitches). Did I just suddenly forget how to play, or is something strange happening here :?: I've never had a bad run like this before.
Kccitystar
It's called "Catchup Logic"...its been around since the NES days.
jg2977
It's called "Catchup Logic"...its been around since the NES days. Why is this "Catchup Logic" or "Computer Assistance" programmed into the game? It's very unrealistic. I remember playing the Madden sereis several years ago. In several games I would go up 3 or 4 touchdowns early, and then after that I couldn't score anymore, no matter what I did. Maybe they program it in to make the games more challenging, but lazy people like me don't want that.
Kccitystar
It's programmed in the game to give people a challenge. Sometimes it can turn out to be a good thing, sometimes it just doesn't work.
cb
Wow, that's strange. I wouldn't like it.
Kccitystar
Yeah, catchup logic is based on a bunch of factors, which the CPU takes into account. I hate the "comeback bug" which is sort of like scripted events that always take place
schitonk
i've won 20 straight on MVP and you would think the CPU would see this as some sort of threat and knock me down a peg, but it hasn't. i don't doubt that there's something built into the game for these comebacks to happen (i've played it long enough to have seen it myself) but it's not like all of a sudden you lose 15 in a row. it's maybe losing 3 of 5 or something. either way, i think you always come out on top of the cpu.
