You have a tailor made double play ball only to have your 2B or SS side step the slider and double clutch into a casual throw to 1st, killing your DP opportunity. What have you guys found control wise that works to overcome that. It would only be an animation necessary vs. a slow batter who hit the DP ball. patsen Posted May 27, 2009 Share Posted May 27, 2009 My technique is to move the player in the direction of the base as I'm preloading the throw. This causes them to at least stop their momentum, if not force them to take a step forward. If I'm strapped for time, I'll let them "Jeter" it. And, I start the throw before they catch the ball, to make sure they start their action as soon as possible. If you need to change your mind, the 6 button stops the throw.
