piranesi
Has anyone else noticed this? When the CPU is in charge of base running, with runners at the corners and less than two out, runners almost always stay put on a double play ball...even with one out, meaning they stand there while the inning ends? I wonder if there is a flaw in the gameplay that makes it a bad move to try to score, that the CPU will go for the tagout at home instead of the double play in every situation and will actually get the out because it takes the runner too long to advance. Also, has anyone seen the CPU throw home on a double play ball even with one out? Do people here generally try to score no a double play? It actually annoys me when my CPU opponent doesn't take the run I'm clearly willing to give them.
Yankee4Life
Never noticed this because I always control my baserunners at all times.
piranesi
Have you found that the CPU fails to take the run for its own team, though?
GoRedSox34
This happens to me, not the CPU. I don't control my baserunners and I recently discovered the same issue you are having so I just have to remind myself to go. So, you're not the only one. Gordo
Never noticed this because I always control my baserunners at all times. I think it depends on the condition and how adept you are at handling the base runners. It's not easy at first. I would say: know your baserunner on 3rd --- what are his BR skills. Depending on how hard the DP ball is hit might dictate what you want to try to do first: take the cpu guy covering 2nd out with a slide attempt first or send the guy from 3rd base home initially....... managerial call there. Tough to practice the button order other than in maybe try to set it up in the game situation mode.
jollydodger
My runner won't even go from 2nd to 3rd on a sacrifice bunt. It's stupid. And if I tell the runners to go back to the bag on a fly ball to tag, there is such a delay that it's too late for them to tag.
Gordo
Try upping the base runner aggressiveness slider.
