bob44
The Dodgers get blown out for the 2nd time this series. Eric Stults got rocked with a 3-run homer and a grand slam in a 7 run 3rd inning that pretty much ended the game. Newcomer James McDonald pitched the last 5 innings of the game, seeing if he's starter material. He gave up a stupid amount of hits (12 in 5 innings) but gave up only 2 runs with 0 walks and 4 k's against a very hot hitting Angels team. CircleChange11
I was going to comment on how the Dodgers have allowed 50 fewer runs than they've scored, and 63 fewer than everyone else in the division ... and then the Angels serius happened. Interesting that AZ has scored 5 fewer runs thatn their ops, but yet is 4 games over .500. Looks like Figgins was getting things started quite a bit. bob44
... and then the Angels series happened. This was ugly, the Dodgers had been playing so good up until this series. The Angels just kept hitting and hitting.....

bob44
The Dodgers win a tight one in Chicago. Jim Thome slides into home on a Sac Fly in the bottom of the 7th to put the Sox up 1-0. It seemed like that could of been the final score in this pitchers duel, but LA fought back. Dodgers take the lead in the 8th 2-1, then give up the tying run in the bottom half of the inning. On to the 9th, Matt Kemp leads off with a double and Martin hits a single up the middle to score Kemp and put LA up 3-2! Broxton then shuts down the Sox 1-2-3 ! bob44
Today's game featured a great pitching match-up! Hiroki Kuroda (9-2 w/ 2.05 era) VS. Gavin Floyd (7-1 w/ 2.11 era). Neither were spectacular, but Kuroda gets the better start. Manny robs Carlos Quentin of a solo homer in the bottom of the 6th. The game was tied 2-2 in the 8th when LA busted out the hitting sticks and posted 4 runs for the inning to take the commanding lead. Sox get a small rally in the 9th, but only score once as the Dodgers win it 6-3.
Maestro23
Man bob, go easy on my Sox man. Looking good though, you got your boys playing .600 ball. Can't complain about that. :hi:
bob44
Man bob, go easy on my Sox man. Looking good though, you got your boys playing .600 ball. Can't complain about that. Both games have been tied 2-2 at some point in the 8th inning, so I haven't been that tough on them. :aggressive: Man, so in your Sox dynasty your 54-30.....I'll have to go 10-2 to match ya! bob44
Ugly game for LA! The White Sox hit 6 homers today....6 !! Randy Wolf struggles for the 2nd straight start and James McDonald gets hammered for the 2nd time in his 2 relief appearances since coming up from AAA. This was a bad ending to the series, but LA leaves Chicago winning 2 out of 3 and head back to home sweet home now.
Maestro23
Wow, they broke out the lumber that game. You still took the series though.

bob44
Wow....not much to say here, just embarrassing. LA was up 4-0 in the top of the 6th, Kershaw was pitching well, but he loads the bases with no outs. All hell broke loose after that. James McDonald who came in for the 9th in an 8-5 game, is now 3 for 3 on horrible appearances and will be sent down to AA.

bob44
Dodgers get back to business today with their style of ball. Great pitching after the last two embarrassing games. Stults comes through with a much needed quality start. He only gives up 1 run on an Ichiro Suzuki inside the park home run. Brent Leach who just got called up today pitches a fantastic 1-2-3 inning on only 4 pitches and picks up his 1st career win! Broxton shuts down the 9th for his MLB leading 26th save of the season! bob44
The Dodgers are on the good side of this butt-kicking! LA wins the rubber match easily to take yet another series. Chad Billingsley has a great start to even his season record at 5-5. Matt Kemp hits his 11th homer of the season in the 8th, a long 3-run shot to really put the game away! bob44
Dodgers lose a tough one tonight. Kuroda pitches well again, but can't get to that 10 win mark just yet. With a 2-1 lead in the 8th, Ramon Troncoso gives up 3 runs on 3 hits including a 2-run homer by Brad Hawpe. Colorado pulls to within 5 1/2 games of 1st place LA. bob44
Dodgers lose another tough one as their pitching staff once again implodes! Randy Wolf who has struggled his past two starts, gives up a solo homer on the 1st pitch of tonight's game! He then settles down to take LA into the 7th with a 5-1 lead. Wolf tires out and loads the bases with 0 outs. The Dodgers put in newcomer Brent Leach and it looks like it was a little too much for him as he gives up a 2-run single and then a 3-run homer. The Dodgers lead in the West falls to 4 1/2 games now over a hot Rockies team that has won 4 in a row, and hopes to sweep the Dodgers in LA.
