JoeRudi26
Nice one run win over the Reds, Bob. I have no doubt Broxton is on a roll, I always hated facing him in the N.L.
bob44
The Dodgers win their 2nd straight 1 run game & their 3rd straight overall! LA had a 3-2 lead in the 7th when Billingsley gets into a bases loaded jam with Hanley Ramirez at the plate. Belisario comes into the game and strikes him out looking! Troncoso & Broxton finish up the 8th and 9th without allowing a base runner. Hanley Ramirez strikes out looking at a Ronald Belisario fastball w/ the bases loaded in the 7th! bob44
The Dodgers complete the sweep of the Marlins and win their 5th in a row thanks to a great start by Randy Wolf. He retires the first 13 batters of the game today and comes within 1 out of a complete game shutout. The Marlins finally score in the 9th to make it 4-1 and then load the bases with 2 outs. Broxton comes in and strikes out Cody Ross! Manny & Ethier go yard for LA. Jonathan Broxton completes the 1-out save tonight by striking out Cody Ross with the bases loaded! bob44
Congrats on the sweep, bob, Florida was always one of those teams I had problems holding down. Good job. Thanks! Hitting 7 homers in the 3 games helped a lot. Even with those 7 shots, LA only has 71 homers in 98 games this year! The "real Dodgers" have 85 in 103 games. The bullpen was really good too. Looking good Bob. Got a little streak going and some breathing room. Thanks! This has been a streaky team big time. I just lost 8 out of 9 and now win 5 in a row! It's like the beginning of the season, I would either sweep or get swept. I can't believe I already have a 5 & 6 game lead back....they were just back within 2 & 2 1/2.....it was getting scary. bob44
The Dodgers are on a roll, as they win their 6th straight game in a row! Clayton Kershaw gets off to a horrible start, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits in the 1st. He settles down to give up just 1 run on 4 hits over the next 6+ innings. LA continues its power surge with 3 long balls today. Manny hits a homer for the 4th straight game tonight, giving the Dodgers an insurance run in the 8th, going up 5-3! O-Dawg connects for his 5th homer of the season to get LA off to the quick start in the 1st.

Mathew
as if they couldn't get any more powerful. That looks like a world series team to me! It's going to be a super tight race this year in the NL central.
bob44
Tonight's game matched the Dodgers with 3 starters getting rest against the Cardinals with 3 new starters in the lineup. The Dodgers get out to a surprising 4-0 lead, with all 4 rbi's coming from Mark Loretta. Jason Schmidt wasn't great, but pitched well enough for the win. He left after 5 innings with a 4-2 lead. The Cardinals get all 6 of their runs off of 5 homers today, including shots from newcomers Lugo & Holliday. Ramon Troncoso gives up two of them in the 8th, blowing the game as he receives his 5th loss of the year. bob44
wow the card's got some big pick ups good luck The Cardinals are only 41-62 this season, I'm surprised how crappy they've been. Their new lineup with these 3 guys beat me 6-4 though and I still have 2 more with them.

bob44
Tonight's game was a heart breaker for the Dodgers. LA was cruising with a 3-0 in the 8th. It looked like Randy Wolf was heading for a complete game shutout. He ends up giving up 1 run in the 8th and then after getting the 1st out in the 9th he gives up a double and leaves the game leading 3-1. Broxton enters and with one pitch blows the game giving up a 2-run shot to Kelly Johnson. George Sherrill comes in to get the final 2 outs of the 9th. Bottom of the 10th now, 3-3.... Sherrill still in the game, 1 out....boom, solo shot by Jordan Schafer, game over! Jordan Schafer celebrates at home after his 10th inning solo shot, while Sherrill looks on in disgust after losing the game.
