emath2432
You can use Daemon tools lite to make an image of your own cd, and then mount it using Daemon tools, and play. It's what I use, and there is a thread about it if you need a link. I have not been able to make a cd copy myself, and use it (always asks for the correct cd), so unless someone else knows of a way to make that work, using a method we can actually talk about, I would say the answer is no (as far as making a hard copy). Here is the LINK. EDIT: My post is one of the last ones. Daemon tools lite is free, and works perfectly for making the image, and mounting it. MarkB
Whether it's legal or not depends on your location, same as every other law. Since you have your location as "hoboland", we can't give you much advice regarding the legality of it.
tiedyed
You can get game jackel to save your original cd and its legal. I use it so I don't ruin my original discs works well for 2k9. http://www.slysoft.com/en/gamejackal.html
emath2432
Not sure I would want to drop $32.89 (23.20 EUR) for something, when there are other legal (and free) alternatives like mentioned above. Of course, that is just my opinion.
mroctober430
It's probably illegal if your trying to sell it, but if your doing it for your personal use I don't see a problem.
tiedyed
It really depends on the protection on the cd/dvd The above free methods did not work on mlb 2k9 due to securom. So game jackel was a good alternative.
