Uni Select Screen Assistance Needed For Imported Unis

Ok, taking my first foray into MVP2K5 modding, I have added a couple of unis so far, however I am at a loss as to how to edit the uniform selection screen so that it reflects the unis I added.

For example, I added the 2008 Reds home uni, but where the game shows "Home" for the included default home jersey, my imported one shows nothing there, and I wanted to know what utility I needed to use to change that.

Just import a BMP image of the uni with tit. Should be a 24b BMP image, 128x128.

It's been a while, but I believe the BMP should be names 020a.bmp (for the home uni), and tit will add it where it needs to be.

No offense, but I don't think you understood my post and what I am trying to accomplish.

I know how to install uniforms - it's the text that says what uniform it is that I don't know how to change.

See the pic I attached for reference. What I circled in white is what I need to know HOW to change. The TC 1956 mod changed the text, so there's a way - I just don't know what that way is, or what file to edit to accomplish what I am after.

You need to edit the .LOC files (IGENG.LOC and/or FEENG.LOC) with the LOCLook utility. If, however, you have nothing displayed on the uniform select screen, it means that you have created a new uniform slot for the team. For example, if the team only had 6 uniforms defined and you added a 7th. In this case, there is no way to create a new text description for the uniform.

What I did for TC1956, was to replace a uniform already in the game and then change the text description in the .LOC file. I didn't add a brand new uniform slot.

You are right, I didn't understand. Wasn't very clear in the first post. Second post made it perfectly clear.

Hope Jim answered it for you.

Alright, here comes part 2 of my question.

How do I get it from a "blank" box to what I need to have in it - in this case "2008 Home". See attached example - I want to know how to change a blank entry (on the left) to the one on the right, with text in the specific uniform slot.

Or is this even possible? If not, I can get around it by putting in what I need on the portrait itself, but I was hoping for a more "elegant" solution if one exists.
