Opinions Wanted: Mvp Vs. High Heat

Hey MVP'ers, I'm one of those dinosaurs who hasn't purchased a pc baseball game since High Heat 2001(I did recently pick up MLB2K9, but the less said about that the better) . For those of you who have played both series of games, how do they compare(gameplay, physics model, ease of editing, etc.)? Any opinions from old-timers like myself would be welcome(I can even still fondly recall the Front Page series!).

For accuracy and depth of engine I would say High Heat. Also they had manage only which I loved.

Gameplay and presentation in MVP 2005 (not to mention the mods) was far better than high heat.

Both games are great at the end of the day.

I believe Hoops hit the nail on the head.  Now, if we can get Sony to package this all up in one box, we'd be set.

Do you have a "name" for this game if Sony did that? ;)

Yeah, Hoops and JR are pretty much spot on.

High Heat was so much more realistic in game play in my opinion, but the ability to update graphically, heck the presentation as a whole, is what led me to finally abandon HH 2003 last fall, and move to MVP.

If I could throw the MVP graphics, and animations, etc over the High Heat game, I would never leave the comforts of my big executive chair at my computer desk.

to give you an example when we are brainstorming for our game generally we are looking at the high heat series as an example more so than any other game.

I have enjoyed playing both games, but High Heat did stand out for stats. HH had the most comprehensive stats in the game I have ever seen, and a great box score presentation that included player of the game! Also, you could save the box scores and look back at them--without the need for an outside program.

MVP stands out for graphics, much better than HH.

I would take secret option #3..... if you still don't have a "next gen" playstation 3, but you have an old playstation 2 like me, pick up a copy of "The Show 09" for playstation 2. It's cheap ( I picked up a used one for $20) and it pays itself off after the first time you finish a game. The game is brilliant.

If you are limited to those two options of MVP or HH2003..... I think this day in age you have to go with MVP. HH is well past dated. It's the better game, but I don't think it has the replay value of MVP anymore.
