CircleChange11
Unless some other game company puts out a PC baseball game that can come close to competing with MVP's gameplay, I'm going to continue this season (A's) next year just to see how well I can improve the team. Should be fun. I think that would be pretty cool. I'd be interested in a 2nd season with the DBacks (I generally like their players). Right now, I'm all over the map in regards to what I want to do with MVP. Every idea "sounds good" until I look at how much work/research needs to be put it. I'm trying to figure out a way to convert BM10's roster ratings to MVP, because I like the way BM bases their ratings on projections, and CHONE and ZIPS look to be really good, PECOTA not so much. THen, there's always 'The Show' looming over my head.

CircleChange11
ROLEN, CABRERA GONE; A's HOST JAYS AT THE COLISEUM Look at the talent TOR has batting 7, 8, 9. Wow. Compare that to an NL team! Comparing the teams' production versus W-L records gives a decent indication of "strength of division" n'est pas? Encarnacion doesn't start over Bautista? What are their comparative con/pow ratings? JoeRudi26
Rajai Davis is "due" or "he sucks" ... one or the other. *grin* hmmm, there's that "glass" again. I'm going to say half full because I finally "got it" and put some speed (Davis - 92) in the outfield. About 10 games ago, I was watching Sweeney, Buck, and Holliday slumber through the gaps chasing doubles and triples, and it hit me like a rock. This team is bad, so I've got to manage the best of the worst. Davis in the lineup will cost me an at bat, without him in the outfield will cost me 3 runs a game. *sigh..*

My guess is that he's still unpacking. Seriously though, it's a great point. The CPU does some strange things some times, but not always, and it does seem to correct, or optimize the lineups eventually. My guess is that he'll be in the lineup for the next game. My OF is Byrnes (85 ... could be 80, was 92), Young (88), and Upton (88). Believe me, I understand (Chase Field is spacious in the OF). Upton saves me quite a few runs and has thrown quite a few guys out at home ... awesome when it ends the inning with multiple runners on base. My toughest decision in gappers often is "Who makes the catch?" b/c Young and Upton are often both "right there".

CircleChange11
That's my sticking point with making rosters. I kknow who is rated "better than who", but I don;t have an in-depth understanding of how this game works in regards to ratings. While everyone was figuring it out in 06-08, I was trying to get MLB2K to "work right".

CircleChange11
WHATEVER IT TAKES *OAKLAND SCRUBS FEND OFF BLUE JAYS, GIAMBI LEADING THE CHARGE* I think you've discovered the secret to winning .... trade away your players of value. Had you traded Chavez (not injured, for this example), it might have been 7-0, instead of 5-2 W-L. If that's actually the case, the Pirates are about to get "hotter'n ****" to quote Lee Elia. JoeRudi26
lol, I laugh my a@@ off everytime I think about how this season has gone so far, and then I look at the division to see that I'm in first place. CircleChange11
The way the NLWest is going in franchise whichever of the 4 locked in mediocrity lose on the last day of the season is going to be out of the tie-breaker. It'll be interesting to see how MVP handles three (or four) teams in the same division with an 81-81 record ... all tied for 1st.

Mathew
Keep the A Train a moving. This is going to be a entertaining race for the division to say the least. I've always liked nomar since his red sox days. Is he producing good enough for his age? Could you indulge me on his stats this season? (p.s. you wouldnt happen to have any old templates I could use .psd files do ya?)
