rolliefingers08
Ahhh I can't decide if I want to go away from the reality and keep Holliday and Cabrera or trade them as it is in real life. I think to help me decide, you need to win the division.

Maestro23
Congrats on roughing up Doc H and sweeping the series Jay. Wow, he gave up 7 walks? Good eye man, good eye. Looks like you've owned the Jays this season.
CircleChange11
Great job. I am currently playing the A's in my DBacks dynasty, and Pennington is doing well there too. Will edit an post some stats later.

Looks like you've owned the Jays this season. Thanks, M. I waited him out, I knew it was my only chance. He's got a great fastball and a wicked slider that I just couldn't catch up to. I figured patience and wearing him down was the only way that I was going to compete. I was suprised to see him walk so many batters, but as you can see he only fanned 3 the entire 6 innings he pitched. It just wasn't his day. It won't be long and I'll have Crosby back in uniform. Despite all that's happened, things aren't looking too shabby.
JoeRudi26
BTW, I wanted to post Mortensen's debut (since losing Gallagher). He gave up 5 (as you can see) in 5 1/3. Shaky, but not earth shattering. I'll give him a few more starts to see how he pans out.
JoeRudi26
I won't have much time to do full updates until later next week, but I am managing to follow the schedule and get my games played. I just finished the 4 game set vs Texas, and got my a@@ handed to me. Here are the results: Aug 3: Tex 4 @ Oak 2 Aug 4: Tex 4 @ Oak 9 Aug 5: Tex 3 @ Oak 1 Aug 6: Tex 6 @ Oak 0 A.L West Standings Oakland 54-55 Texas 53-55 Seattle 50-58 Angels 50-

Too bad Hamilton was sober the whole series.. Yeah, I've got 6 more with them in September. Forgot to mention (coming up) I'm in Kansas City and then Baltimore for 6, so I might be able to plow through the first part of this schedule and get some separation. Still laughing though. Under .500 and in first place. Wow.

And hey, doesn't matter about the record, as long as you win the division. lol Would be interesting to see what your record is against the Division and then non-Division teams. Murphy, Hamilton & Young, sounds like a Bankruptcy Law Firm. They certainly "owned" my a@@ this series. Man, I was just checking my schedule (Maestro), and the A.L. West has pretty much owned me: I'm 14-17: 5-7 vs Texas 4-6 vs LAA 5-4 vs Seattle This has been the funnest and most challenging, yet most pathetic team I think I've ever played with. How in the hell do you look forward to seeing Kurt Suzuki step in the batter's box?

LAA is like 32-16 in my franchise, so there's "potential" for them to go on a 16-8 streak or so. Has you told Giambi that he "won't be making the trip?" JoeRudi26
Has you told Giambi that he "won't be making the trip?" Not quite sure eveyone understands how I do things with the rosters, but I'll try to explain it the best that I can: Injuries, call ups, send downs, releases are all done and decided on the player's performance within their respective team(s) in my dynasty. In other words, I put players on the teams that they're supposed to be on, i.e, Carl Pavano today going to the Twins. As long as he doesn't move to a different team in real life, I don't control what Minnesota (in MVP) does with him. If he performs well, he'll be on the roster, I assume. If he doesn't, Minnesota (in MVP) will optimize their rosters accordingly and he may be in A ball before the month's out. That said, Giambi (in real life) has not been moved to a different team, so therefore he is still "my property", and at this point I have no reason to release him. It's possible to put players where they're supposed to be, but it's just not humanly possible to control injuries, call ups/send down, signings/releases, contract purchases, and so on, and make every transaction possible for all teams throughout the league. If Giambi (in real life) gets signed by a different team, I will put him on that team. As realistic as I'd like to keep the rosters, this seems to be the most plausible and fair way to do things for all teams. For example, if Matt Holliday got released from the Cards in real life, and in MVP he was hitting .500/50/100, it just wouldn't be "fair" to use the Team Changer and take him off the team. But if someone else signed him.. Anyway, hope that explains things a little better. Giambi, or this whole team for that matter, is barely average with an under .500 record. My luck is that noone in real life does sign him, and I'm stuck with him. My system isn't perfect, but it's how I do it and have always done it. And BTW, I'll be happy with 4 wins, because this bunch of degenerates couldn't recognize a broom in an "all kitchen tools lineup".
CircleChange11
That's pretty much what I did with Tony Clark (DFA) and did a while ago with John Smoltz. I lowered clark's ratings quite a bit and sent him to AAA (hopefully his ratings are still good enough to help me meet the 'lead AAA in HRs goal' ). I lowered Smoltz's ratings quite a bit (he was the 2nd rated picther on Boston's staff), lowered control and movement by 10 pts each and reduced stamina by 10 (that lowered him to the 5th SP or LR status). Now, I'll do it 10 more points and let Boston deal with them how they please.

JoeRudi26
Ouch Jay. 0-3 against KC? I know, I was thinking the same thing, but in reality (and in MVP), we're no better than they are anyway. I've never played a more frustrating season than this one, but at least the game is playing true to form, and the numbers are pretty realistic. I'm looking foward to 'next year' already.
