JoeRudi26
Nice comeback Jay. Can't believe my boy, Jenks blew that save. By the top of the 9th, I had already thrown in the towel. I couldn't get a run across the plate, was down 2-0, and threw a fat pitch down the middle of the plate just to see what Lillibridge (Brent) would do with it. He hit's it into the left field seats. 3-0. Next thing I know, the bases are loaded in the bottom of the ninth with no outs, and somehow I wind up scoring 4 runs. This proves if you just show up, anything can happen.

JoeRudi26
Dang Jay I know, it's awful. I get Crosby and Powell back soon, but I doubt it's going to be enough. Still, it's been an excellent challenge. I cannot believe this pathetic squad is only 2 games out. lol

I know, I can't figure it out. I haven't done too bad against Boston either (5-5), but I've been pounded by Kansas City, Baltimore, and Chicago. It's been a very, very strange season.

Well at least you have a shot at the play offs because at the end of it, it doesn't matter who you beat or lose to. I can't beat New York or anyone else for that matter Which season has been better in regards to chasing down the division leader? This one or the Cubbies season? JoeRudi26
Well at least you have a shot at the play offs because at the end of it, it doesn't matter who you beat or lose to. I can't beat New York or anyone else for that matter Which season has been better in regards to chasing down the division leader? This one or the Cubbies season? In '07 with the Cubs, I was 9 games back (at the All-Star Break) of a red hot Astros team that just wouldn't lose. I didn't score a lot of runs, but I could win games. It was frustrating in the sense that no matter what I did, Houston wouldn't stop winning. Just as I hoped, they cooled off in early August and I finally caught them with room to spare. This season has been a lot more frustrating, and in a totally different way. I can't find a way to win games. I have no speed, no power, watered down pitching, injuries, and on and on.. This is simply a very weak team from top to bottom. Even though the division is just as bad, it's still more frustrating from game to game. I have no hopes of making the playoffs. I can't put together any kind of streak, and I just can't see this pitching staff getting any better. If I do make it in, then it will definitely be a season to remember. I tweaked for a solid month at the beginning of this season, and my sliders are absolutely perfect for my style of play. I'm getting the most realistic numbers I've ever gotten with MVP. Losing games with this Oakland team is indicitive of how truly weak they are, so if the game plays this good, I'm satisfied. *BTW, you still playing your dynasty? I haven't seen an update for awhile. Maestro23
Good win JR, good win. Riddle me this Batman: You're 7-0 against the Yankees, but the Royals have had your number just about all season. Must be that whole "Playing down to your competition" thing. Trust me, I know that feeling. ^_^
JoeRudi26
I can't figure it out either. For some reason (possibly injuries throughout the season), the Yankees (61-60) are playing sub par to probably where they should be. It's interesting, I'll have to look into the numbers and see where their downfall has been. Pitching maybe too, I really don't know. What a strange, strange season. There is no rhyme or reason to winning or losing, and it's impossible to predict anything. This was one of the funnest games I've ever played on MVP. Not because it was the Yankees, but because I needed a win so badly, and I truly fought to the bitter end for this one. MVP is without a doubt dated graphically, and there are obviously some things I would have loved to add, but I still can't get over how good of a baseball sim it really is. ^_^
rolliefingers08
If you're lucky you'll get Tomko to have an out of body experience like he did for the A's tonight. How come the Wallace call up though? Just wondering.

How come the Wallace call up though? Just wondering. I agree about Tomko, but as meager as this pitching is, I may as well give him a shot and see how he performs. I'm making Wallace an experiment until I get Crosby back in a week. I'll plug him into third base for a few games since Chavez can't seem to find any consistency, and hopefully I'll get some positive production out of him. I really need that right-handed bat from Crosby, and I can't wait to get him back in the lineup. My latest call ups have been more than I could hope for: OF/2B - Eric Patterson (7 games): .409/0/1 .480 OBP SS - Gregario Petit (8 games): .345/0/5 .394 OBP OF - Aaron Cunningham (5 games): .286/0/1 At this point, I have nothing to lose, but I think Jason Giambi has seen his last days on this team.
