JoeRudi26
What the hell went on out there, Jay. Those same usual suspects for Detroit are the same guys that have given me fits this season. Off the top of your head, Maestro, or if you want to check, what's your record against Detroit this year? I finally pulled even with them at 4-4. They're somewhat respectable in MVP @ 8 games over .500, 1st in Central.

I'm 5-7 against them this year. That beating they gave me in the last game of our recent series, was my worst loss to them so far.

I know the feeling. On paper, this Tiger team should be averaging 8 or 9 runs a game. They got going against me in Game 1 today, and I couldn't stop them no matter what I did.

Just glancing over the Yankee's stats, they just aren't getting it done at either end of the spectrum.

CircleChange11
Great job JR. I still cannot believe that the angels haven't put together something like a 12-2 run at some point. Do you know how the Rangers and A's remaining schedules compare in terms of 'difficulty'? I keep thinking that will likely be the difference maker. I keep leaning to using Texas in a dynasty next year (or just doing another season with ARZ), b/c my Cardinals look to be too good to be fun in a dynasty. I'd imagine with school starting back you're crazy busy. Seems that way everywhere. Anyway, you're right, I can't believe the way this season is turning out either. I wouldn't have imagined being in first place with a 60-64 record in a million years, no matter what division it's in. The way things are going, I'm actually believing I can make the playoffs. I may not win many games, but getting in with this rag tag team would be an accomplishment in itself. If there were ever a definition of PURE LUCK, this season would be it. I've been curious enough to look at all the teams in the division, and there is just absolutely no rhyme or reason to anything. No one team (A.L. West) is dominating on either side of the spectrum. As far as Oak/Tex schedules, they seem to be about even in comparison. Nothing sticks out. Basically, the whole division is just sort of on cruise control. Believe me when I say, I have fought with a vengeance to be here. Every time I look at the standings, I'm no more than a game or two out, I may as well try my damndest to keep winning. So far, so good, but one of those 12-2 runs you mentioned would be 'all she wrote' for whoever pulls it off. If I can string 5 or 6 wins together.. BTW, you still playing your dynasty? *Edit - I almost forgot. You mentioned you may want to play with Texas next year. I can't tell you how much fun I have watching these guys play. Josh Hamilton and Ian Kinsler are two of the funnest guys I've seen play the game in a long time. Texas would be a good choice.

Yeah, the only time I get to sit down is when I'm taking a .... well, nevermind. BTW, you still playing your dynasty? Yeah, I'm getting ready to update my in-season ratings using my porjection/historical stats combos and finish the season with that. My dynasty will take me into the winter, and I'm fine with that. Then it'll be time to update the rosters to 2010, using a combo of proejctions10/historical09 for the ratings. *Edit - I almost forgot. You mentioned you may want to play with Texas next year. I'm a big Michael Young fan, and given the season he is having this year, he should be a beast in next year's sim season. If Young were playing in NY/BOS, he'd be huge. JoeRudi26
Way to hold on, Jay. Damn that pesky Ichiro. I dread him getting on base. It seems 99% of my games play out like this. For some reason, I cannot hold a comfortable lead the entire game. At this point, every single game counts if I'm going to get in. When Ichiro hit the triple with one out, it was par for the course how this season has gone. I did the only thing I could do by walking Gutierrez, and it happened to go my way. I was elated to say the least. :D

JoeRudi26
ouch tough break Yeah, up 1 run going into the bottom of the 9th and I had the top of the order with Ichiro coming up. I absolutely knew if he got on base this was either going to extras, or they were going to manage to win it. If I could of been lucky enough to have the middle/bottom of the order, I may have pulled this one out.

CircleChange11
Bases loaded walk to Beltre? We you nibbling or struggling? Or some of both? As a side question ... have you tried Brett Wallace yet? I'm figuring up ratings for a 2009 roster set, and projections have him at about a .270-15-75 season, which would put his ratings around 71 CON 60 POW. I'm not sure what his ratings are with KG, but 71/60 is pretty good.
JoeRudi26
Bases loaded walk to Beltre? We you nibbling or struggling? Or some of both? I always start nibbling or struggling in about the 4th inning. This pitching staff is extremely weak. As a side question ... have you tried Brett Wallace yet? Brett Wallace has played in 2 games this season, here's his numbers: Games:2 AB: 7 AVE: .286 HR: 0 RBI:1 Not much to go on from these stats for any kind of projections, I honestly don't even remember why I put him in the lineup. Anway, here's his Attributes in the game: Either way, good luck with the rosters, I'll definitely be looking forward to what you come up with. And BTW, Ichiro scored on the double by Gutierrez. I walked Beltre to LOAD the bases. B)
