Man, is Texas ever going to cool off?

Jay, my brother lives down in Texas. I could make a phone call, he could get some of his boys together and....

Well, let's just say, some of those Rangers wouldn't make it to the ballpark. B)

For some reason I really like that template JR, very nice. That's from your yankees dynasty right?

Thanks stEd.  Yeah, the template is from the '78 Dynasty I was doing with New York.  I was looking through old CD's and thought I'd use some of these things instead of making new ones.

With Texas winning seven straight, I can't help but think that Andruw Jones has got something to do with that. How is he doing this season?

x, this whole offense looks pretty potent.  I'm 5-7 against Texas this year, but I can tell you that Hamilton, Young, Murphy and Kinsler are tough outs.

I'm not too confident about taking them out.  I need to play .500, and hopefully get some help from someone else.  They've got to cool off quick.

The West finally has a .500 team. You should consider yourself lucky that Young is having a terrible season.

.249 7HR 39RBIs

They would be running away if he was hitting better. How is their pitching staff? Keep your head up you can catch them.

Thanks, pugg.  Actually, as you can see, their pitching is nothing special.  But even if you take their record (or anyone from the A.L. West), they're all still mediocre teams.

Texas just happens to be the hottest in the division right now.

Add a case of adult beverages, and you've got a deal. :D

Rob, this team (and season) has been the epitome of inspiration for alcoholic beverages.  Not only are they (liquor store) expecting me before game time, I'm pretty sure there's a party in my honor after closing hours.  (..something about spending enough money over the summer to have stock in the company..i don't know)

Anyway, do what you can, I've got the "payment" covered.   :D

Nice win. Shame that Texas has left it till now to put together a serious win streak. Then again a 3 game lead can be erased with a sweep in your favor in an upcoming series. :)

Yeah, they hit a weak spot in their schedule, but now they've got 3 at 1st place Cleveland.  How nice would a sweep be by the Tribe? I just need to stay focused and keep winning.

Not easy to do with this A's team, but it's definitely been a blast.   B)

Haha. I hear ya man. I've got a "store" just 2 blocks from me. I'm in there so much, they play a little "cha-ching" sound effect for me every time I come thru the door.

Good win against Seattle. Texas be damned. Whatever Ron Washington is cooking down there, them boys are buying. :unknw:

Hopefully, you can keep winning and they will stumble before you guys meet on the 14th.

[1] Looks like the lefty (BAnderson) handled SEA rather well.

[2] Texas's schedule looks very favorable for them.

Michael Young may be the type of player (high average, more of a doubles hitter than HR hitter) that doesn't translate well to MVP. If the game had a rating, like OOTP, such as "gap power" (doubles and triples), he may be much better. POW rating seems to affect just homers.

Pudge Rodriguez seems to be an outstanding addition to TEX. Is he playing much? Looking at their lineup, he should likely start behind the plate and Salty DH'ing ... or playing a platoon split vL/vR.

I would imagine TEX's pitcher ratings will be much higher next year, especially for guys like Naeftali Feliz, who is a hidden gem. THis guy has very good stuff, if/when he puts it together.

Somebody had mentioned it before, maybe it was you.  Lefty Brett Anderson basically took Griffey and Ichiro out of the picture, they went a combined 1-8.  I figured if they didn't get to him, (righties) Mike Sweeney, Adrian Beltre, and Franklin Gutierrez would.

To my surprise, their offense was strangely quiet.  I just wish Texas would cool down.

Yep. I have noticed that lefty pitchers dominate lefty batters/lineups.

LHBs have something like a 17% reduction in production against LHPs, whereas RHB have only a 4% reduction against RHPs ... but both LHBs and RHBs have a 4% increase against P of the oppo hand (i.e., LHB v RHP). The ratings in MVP reflect this.

That might be where i am falling short. I don't seem to be getting any advantage against the opposite handed pitchers. Excluding Jed Lowrie who has a SLG% of nearly .900 against LHP's but he is a switch hitter so that doesn't really count.

The only time you should/will see a significant advantage is when you have a LHP pitching against a lineup heavy in LHBs.

The advnatge RHBs have over LHPs and that LHBs have over RHPs is just not that great. But, LHPs have a significant advantage against LHBs.

Bringing in a RHP to face a RHB doesn't have near the advantage that a LHP has against a LHB.
