I like his chances with Ian Snell on the mound. *grin*

Normally facing a pitcher with 18 losses on the season would heighten your confidence in winning the game.

Not with this team.

That's how you do it JR :)

I still can't believe that your are only averaging 3.83 runs a game but are still in contention.

The upside is that you are only giving up 3.91 runs a game which is the type of pitching that should have you at 80 wins at least.

Looks like you got some help from the ump over at first as well.

lol, thanks rick.  Do you know how good it felt to have a SAFE LEAD for most of the game?  I would have dropped 30 on them if I could have.   :D  Everything Snell threw was in the middle, or close to, the plate.  I can't believe he lasted for almost 5 innings.

And I agree, I knew he was safe at first when the play unfolded.    B)

Wow Jay, way to get the lumber mill going. Snell must have been throwing BP.

Look at Patterson, the ball must have looked like a beach ball to him. Good stuff.

That ump at 1st, must be in your hip pocket. <_<

Good win man. You deserve a blowout like this. How did it feel not being on the edge of your seat in the late innings? ^_^

*Oh, took your advice on Ichiro. I've contained him in the 1st 2 games with ease. :drinks:

Thanks, M, it felt great to be able to sort of "cruise" through the late innings.  It's about time.  I don't know what the deal is, but the last two games of the series it's like the faucet was turned off on Seattle's offense.  Not that it's that explosive, but holding them to 1 run on 5 hits would have probably gotten me the win anyway.  Either way, it's at least good to be on the winning end of a blowout.

Looking forward to your update with Seattle and how you handled the whole lineup, especially Ichiro and Griffey.  It got to the point in this game, in the late innings, that I was going to put it on his chin or walk him.  He wasn't getting on any other way.   :D

Not even close. Safe by a full stride.

Nice job against 'Ian Shelled'.

Hey look, Texas lost!

I think the PC finally felt sorry for me all the way around in this game.  'Bout time I get some love.. <_<

Good ol fashioned butt whoopin, just what you need to jump start a little streak B)

I'm not getting my hopes up.  I have to admit, this is probably the most lop sided win I've had all season, but for some reason this team can't get on a streak.

I've got the next two games in a 'Thomeless' Chicago, and I just previewed the lineups and Dye is on the bench due to fatigue.

I have no sympathy for any opponents I have to face at this point.  I may hit Quentin in the face just for good measure.   :diablo:

My Sox without their bite (Thome) makes the lineup a little easier to navigate. And J. Dye is on the bench as well... -_-

I smell at least a split, Jay. Good luck man. :)

I can't believe this team is practically at the bottom of the A.L. Central.  Rios, Quentin, Konerko, and Pierzynski (not to mention Jermaine Dye .275/30/80) are all absolutely killing the ball.  They're hitting .273 with a team era of 4.31.  Pretty decent numbers all the way around.

I haven't looked at Cleveland's numbers yet, but they've got to be playing some pretty good baseball.

Yeah, I know. Looking at the numbers those guys are putting up, you'd think they would be nipping at Cleveland's heels. I see Detroit is on a little 3 game skid.

Pitch carefully, and you should be alright.

If the White Sox knew that they might trade Thome, I wonder why they also traded minor league slugger Brandon Allen?

Allen is projected to be a pretty good HR guy, which would have played well at The Cell.

For the Sox, at 3 levels, Allen had 20 HRs (.298) in 500 ABs, and then went nuts in the PCL (Reno) .324 with 12 HR in 167 AB.

At the MLB level, he's struggling with average (.196) for the DBacks, but has 3 HR in 51 AB. He's striking out a lot, but that seems to be the 'Diamondback Way'. If/When he figures out how to get some more hits (23yo), he could be a decent slugging 1B. He's a LHB, which means he's gonna rock for me when I resume my DBack Dynasty.

As for Cleveland ... If I remember right I had to lower Carmona's rating A LOT, b/c his ratings seemed to be dominated by his 07 performance, even though he was demoted to the minors and is a 6+ ERA pitcher this year. I would also imagine that Sizemore's and Hafner's ratings have not been "updated" to resemble their current type performance ... especially Hafner (.308-42-117 in '06 ... .266-24 in '07 ... .197-5 in '08 ... rebounding to .271-14 in '09, but 09 stats wouldn't be figured in).

Also, if I remember right Pavano's ratings needed to come down a significant amount also.

Knocked down eight times, stand up nine. Good ol Japanese proverb.

Gio gets revenge on his former squad.

I think winning 3 straight is the biggest streak I've been able to put together all season.   1.5 back seems like nothing, but if things keep going like they have all year, I'm probably due to lose about 4 in a row.

That would be the clincher.
