Congrats Jay on the win and the streak. Love that shot of Cellular.

Getting ready to start a 3-game series with your boys. Took care of Ichiro and the Mariners 2-1.

Thanks, M.  Can't wait to see your update on the Seattle series.  It's cool stuff to compare how you fared against those guys, especially since my own series is still fresh off the schedule.

But man, take it easy on my boys..they're having a tough year.   B)

Wow, Side Side Slugfest. Great comeback, Jay. :good:

Look like both sides were throwing BP. ^_^

That kind of win, can give you some big momentum to ride on. Keep it going man.

I can't tell you how many times I "gave up" in this game and just started swinging for the fence.  I think this is the most HR's I've witnessed in a single game of MVP.

It was cRaZY.

Look at those A's threatening to play some .500 ball, who do they think they are?

Looks like you got a little win streak going, if only someone called that ^_^

I know, when I got down 7-1 in the 5th, I just said f**k it and started swinging for the fences.  I figured If 'you're going to beat my azz, I'll wear you out doing it.'   <_<

Going into the 9th I was down 7-5 with 2 outs and 2 on, and I had Crosby hack at anything across the plate.  He got a low inside slider that cleared the fence by about 20 feet.  I seriously just sat here and laughed.  I was thinking, "you gotta be kidding me.."

As you can imagine, I'm now taking the bottom of the 9th pretty serious, lol, and luckily I held them.  What a whacky game.

TOP 9th (down 7-5)

Really, that's all you can do. A team is not likely to put together 4 and 5 hit innings, so if you can get some guys on a land a HR, that's smart baseball.

That's the right move in that situation. Again, you're not likely to get multiple/consecutive hits with 2 outs, so the HR is what you're going for. I did the same thing with DBacks the other day in Xtras with a slow guy at 1st, 2-outs and Montero at the plate. I also got a low inside slider and ended the game. In that situation, you're playing for the HR.

Are the A's starting to get the "Colorado Feeling"? ... where they win something like 21 of 23 games, and win the division? Winning games you should lose (down 7-1) are the types of games that produce a goofy streak like that.

I hear you (Colorado), but I honestly doubt it.  I'm elated that I've won 4 straight, and in total disbelief that I'm only a game and a half out of a division title with 20 or so games left.

I seriously don't know what to think about this season.  Who gets in over the span of 162 games while clocking in at 3 or 4 games under .500?  I mean, what are the odds?

Should I be looking at playing Powerball anytime soon?

Edit: nevermind, I just realized that when you said "powerball", you were talking lottery, and not "playing for the big inning". Heh Heh.

As for the lottery ... no. You've already used up all your luck.

Big innings??

What's that?

It's what happens to me when I bring in a middle or late reliever.

Same here, I just thought the opposition was welcoming the new pitcher by congregating (and crossing) home plate.  It seems to happen like clockwork.

Joe which players do you have on DL?

Believe it or not, I've got everyone healthy as of right now.  The long term injuries that I have suffered through the season were Bobby Crosby, Landon Powell, and Justin Duchscherer. Jack Cust spent a small amount of time on the DL as well.  I think the toughest point in the season was when I lost Crosby.  Orlando Cabrera was doing a decent job at SS and then he was traded, forcing me to bring up Gregario Petit (among others) from AAA Sacramento.

That being said, I'm not blaming poor team performance on injuries and/or trades, as a matter of fact I consider myself pretty lucky over the course of the entire season when it comes to injuries.

I hate to sound negative, but I've seen this before.  It seems everytime I hit (or get close to) .500, I lose 3 or 4 in a row and just can't seem to get over the hump.  With a little over 20 games left, I just see that as too much time to "slide" again.

Anway, even if I don't make it, I've decided to pick a team "out of the hat" that gets in, and manually play, (or completely destroy) as that team.

Go Cubs?   B)

That doesn't sound like "I'm all in" to me. *grin*

I'm hoping for a tie-breaker, one and done, game to get into the playoffs. What could be more dramatic than that? It's not like the A's are going to let you relax at all. Of course, it'll go into extra innings. How could it not?

How about playing ALL of the games?

[1] You'd be able to present it along with the playoffs.

[2] In each series, start by playing as the higher seed, then next game the lower seed, etc.

[3] It'd be very interesting to follow.

Hey CC, thought I'd post this here since you've been in and out since I started the dynasty.  I always get nervous this time of year and start "doodling" in Photoshop (ask Maestro, he'll tell you).  Anyway, been working on a little idea for an avatar..

If you don't want it, that's cool.  I may still mess around with it.  I sort of like the idea, but I wanted to use the seam in the baseball as the "C" for CircleChange, just don't have much room to mess with.
