joe i wish you best of luck in your series

Thanks joriel.  I wish there was some way to broadcast the entire series.  Not like there's a ton of followers, I just think it would be interesting to figure out how to do it.

I like looking at the lineup comparisons and trying to figure out how the hell you could possibly win. So far, I'm at a loss. A bloop double with the bases loaded?

Pitch your @$$ off is all I can say. *grin*

When the guy doing the worst in your lineup is Michael Young, things look pretty good.

My advice is to "only give up solo HRs". *grin*

Good luck with 6-29 gio gonz. 29 losses is a lot. Heh Heh.

I hear you, it's hard to believe these guys have a (decent) ERA of 4.35 and their offense looks like it's on steriods.  It makes you wonder where the flaws are.  I might only give up solo HR's, let's just hope not everyone gets one.

18 million correct numbers without a mistake, and not one pat on the back from The Principle (probably not many people realized that).  :)

1 mistake (single digit, mind you) and I'm slung to the carpet...

...geesh, you number's guys.. ;)

Jay, be careful... CC might call you into his office. :D

Okay, first of all, I'm a "princiPAL", not a principle. It's funny that you made that mistake, because the same mistake is printed on my ID badge. It's so classic, that I kept it as "Principle". You can't buy irony like that.

As for my office, I have a large wooden paddle with "Love" painted on one side, "Logic" painted on the other (A district initiative is "Love and Logic" philosophy). So, I'll be nice and let you decide what you want, Love or Logic.

I would never spank a kid in my office, I would go out in the hallway and let the sound echo throughout the building. It'd be the one and only time I'd ever have to give a spanking. Of course, I'm in dreamland now. No spanking in schools. Really, I spend most of my day settling conflicts between savage 7th grade girls. It's a glamorous career.

Now, we'll take your typo and "put it over here". As long as you don't make another one, the typo stays "over here". But, if I see another one, I bring it back "to here" and combine it with the new one for double consequence, okay?

1 mistake (single digit, mind you) and I'm slung to the carpet...

Yeah, I'm a beast. I'm probably best described as the "Jim Carrey" of principals.

As a bit of humor, for Halloween this year at school, I'm dressing up as 'The Punisher'. Classic principal humor.

Awesome.

First Blood? Rambo, John J.?

I don;t usually use the "real" cuss words, but I just saw step brothers on some pay channel, and the part where they go in for interviews in tuxedos ... and the one brother says to the worker "We're here to F--- s--- up" ... just killed me.

That should be your motto for the Texas series.

*corrected linescore, was showing only 1 run for Rangers*

I don;t even know what to say.

Well, I say what I mean and mean what I say. That's your second typo. Now, there's hell to pay. Hands on the desk, buddy. You can bite on a pencil if you want. Do you want Love or Logic (side of the paddle)?

Actually, this is getting weird. I shoulda just left this one alone.

lol, how about asking for an apostrophe for Christmas?  Seriously though, I can't remember telling anyone in my lifetime to bite on a pencil right before I spanked them with a "love" paddle.

I gotta get me a school job.   B)

Nice win Jay.

I'll leave all the other "stuff" to you and the princiPAL. :D

lol, thanks, M.  This was a fun game, I really didn't think I'd hang in there long enough to hold them.

(btw, I gotta get me a spellchecker)   :D

I hear ya man. Why do you think I changed my format. It was either keep the article style updates, OR drop the beer. You can see which one had to go. B)

You going to try and broadcast one of your games over XFire? I don't know how good that works, never used it before myself. Although, it would be cool to broadcast one of your games when you get to the Playoffs. :D

If you want to run a test game sometime, I'll help you test.

haha, I noticed you said when.  Wish I had that kind of faith.   <_<

I've not really used it either, but I researched it a little and it looks like it's pretty easy to do.  But yeah, if I get there, I'd like to try it out.  Either way, you can add me on xfire if you want:  jazen77

Nice win JR! This dynasty is more exciting than real MLB right now. The closest race in real baseball is the NL West and the Dodgers have a 4 game lead. The NL wildcard lead is 3.5 games and the AL wildcard lead is 4.5 games. Good luck with the rest of the series.

Thanks puck, I'm glad a few people are enjoying it.  I realize the game (MVP) is probably past it's due, but it still amazes me how good this game plays.

As far as the dynasty, it took me awhile to "right the ship".  I was thinking "offense/power/scoring runs", but finally realized after it was almost too late that one of the biggest problems this team had was lack of speed.  I was scoring runs ok, pitching ok, but giving up way too many runs on defense.

After bringing up Eric Patterson (spd 90), Aaron Cunningham (spd 85), and Gregario Petit (spd 84), I was able to close some major gaps in the outfield, cutting off balls in the gap that Sweeney and Buck just simply could not get to, which would in turn cost me extra base hits and eventually runs.

I still feel pretty lucky to even be in this thing at just a game over .500, but I guess I'll take it.   B)

I think defense is one of the biggest things I am looking at for rosters. I would at other sims for how they rate their players "range" ratings as compared to their speeds. For example, some OFs have average speed, but excellent range (Jim Edmonds for example) due to outstanding reads. Other guys are fast, but take bad routes or get poor reads (Justin Upton, Carlos Gomez, etc). Some guys are average speed and take poor reads (Parra), and I would want them to be a handicap in the game.

The corner IF positions I really want to look at. Far too many 1B and 3B dive and stab everything, including poor fielders like Mark Reynolds, Ryan Howard, etc. I would like to see defense play a more prominent role in played games (pitcher's range will all be lowered to 1, 2, or 3 with GG types having a 5 or so. I read that idea from someone, and it made a lot of sense to me. Too many "great grabs" on liners up the middle.)

Whether this is possible or not, I'm not sure, but I intend to find out. Throw accuracy would be another one. I find that regardless of what IF I Use Reynolds, Drew, Roberts, Ryal, Lopez, etc .... whenever they dive and make a great play, they almost always make an accurate throw, which does happen in MLB, but not as often for average or below rated players.

For example, I've played 54 games, and I don;t think Reynolds has made an error yet, and is on pace to hit 40+ HRs. There should be a trade off for having him in the lineup (big bat for poor defense) and right now, he's a modern Mike Schmidt in my franchise (he grabs every liner, makes every dive, and makes every throw).
