JoeRudi26
I have to admit, this was one of the best pitched games (CPU) that I've faced all year. Maybe it was luck by the AI, maybe it was the count situations, but everytime I was looking away, I got burned inside, everytime I was looking heat, I got a changeup.. I simply couldn't hit tonight's pitching.

JoeRudi26
WOW! Neftali Feliz must be tough! hope you beat the Rangers in the next game/series! Thanks louie. Yeah, I was taken totally by suprise with Feliz. He just threw gas the entire time, he could paint the corners, but most of all he had the knack of busting me high and inside with two strikes. Very, very tough to lay off of that 98mph fastball in that situation. Here's a small clip of the variety he was throwing. Here he's only clocking in at 95mph, most of the time he was at 97 or 98. Maestro23
Wow Jay, Feliz had you all messed up in that at-bat. Looks like he was just in the zone, that game. Looks like some good pitch sequences. Again, showing the rock-solid nature of MVP, a good datafile, and some sliders. Good luck next game.

JoeRudi26
Yeah, I don't know about those *cough* pro sliders *cough*. I know, lol. To be honest though, I wouldn't have "believed it" either if I hadn't tried it. I tweaked this game for a month solid on all levels, and Pro level was the best challenge with complete balance. But what do I know? :D
CircleChange11
ahh, I see you now share in my negativity. Looks bleak, doesn't it? When the lineup you're facing seemingly has as many HRs as your lineup has RBIs, I think negativity is tolerable. *grin*

CircleChange11
If this were 2k9, you could blame it all on "comeback logic". As it is, you have to chalk it up to poor bullpen against a fierce offense. I noticed you didn't provide any commentary. I don't blame ya. After you glue your MVP CD back together and buy a new controller, you can get back at it tomorrow. Though if you don;t even want to look at your PC tomorrow, I'll understand. On the other hand, I played 2 games tonight, and got to use Webb and Haren, which just makes the game easy. Compared to your experiences, it doesn't seem fair. If you use the A's next year, I promise to use SD or PIT, and we'll see who can finish the fewest games out of 1st ... or fewest under .500. I do feel bad as I'm sorta laughing inside imagining your facial expressions as the game just went down the toilet. You had to think ya had a chance once Salty K'd ... or that Cruz would make an out with the Bases loaded ... or that they wouldn;t have 8 guys reach base consecutively. Okay, I'll stop. I don;t want bad ju-ju coming my way.

God - *evil laugh* That's pretty much what I was thinking.. I had it won, got up in the 7th to make something to drink, played with the cat for a few minutes, you know, all those things you do when you're in a good mood.. I blame myself. I should have seen it coming.

Speaking of "comeback logic", if you look at the 8th inning graphic I posted, I pretty much knew what was coming after Chris Davis homered. His (and Murphy's) were absolute bombs that landed in the exact same place in the second deck in right center. I'm not saying it happens much, but I've seen this in MVP before.. Every now and then the CPU has that big inning that seems unstoppable. I honestly love the realism, because it doesn't happen often, but it does happen in real life. I just wished I had at least a one game lead coming into this one.
CircleChange11
I'm curious as to your thinking of walking Jones to get to Cruz? Also, you're at a big disadvantage due to your starting pitcher's stamina. There's quite a drop off (on almost all teams) from starters to bullpen, and I'd imagine you usually have to get 3 IP out of the pen, which also lacks a dominant 9th inning guy. JoeRudi26
I'm curious as to your thinking of walking Jones to get to Cruz? At that point, they had narrowed my lead to 5-4. Blalock was on 2nd base with 2 outs, so I decided to walk the better hitting Jones, which would have at least created a force at all bases (except home plate). I'm not even going to say it backfired, as you can see, Cruz homered and it didn't end there. There was simply no stopping them.

Maestro23
Wow, Jay... Total meltdown in that 8th inning. How much stuff did you break around the house. Those kind of innings are going to happen every once in awhile (for you as well as for the CPU). Just grab you a beer, shake it off, and take out your frustration on the Tribe. :D
JoeRudi26
Those kind of innings are going to happen every once in awhile (for you as well as for the CPU). Yep, they do happen, and you're right, I've seen it from both sides. Good thing is, it's about as rare in MVP as it is in baseball. I'll take my lumps, and move on. Just grab you a beer, shake it off, and take out your frustration on the Tribe. This is good advice, maybe I'll have a couple before game time, relax, and bounce back from the a@@ kicking I took last night. :)
