Wow, good Eye at the plate, Jay.

Little Cabrera went yard on ya... had to be a mistake pitch. -_-

Thanks, M.  I had no choice, it was quickly turning out to be one of those games where I couldn't find a hole anywhere on the diamond.  Up until the 12th inning, I only had 3 hits in the game.

Patience was my only option, and luckily my own pitching held up.

Man, you're currently in the "Twilight Zone" with how you're games are going.

We talked earlier about feeling each game out and adjusting the hitting strategy depending on how the game is going. Sometimes you just have to take what they're giving you. My last game was similar. Facing Matos of SDP, he walked 7 in 8 IP ... I just could NOT get any 2-out hits with multiple runners on (and Scherzer, returning from INJ, game up more runs in one game than he had in his previous 5 starts combined).

After holding the Dodgers' O in check for 3 games, the Pads are lighting me up for 7 (I scored 9) and 8 runs (I scored 1) in my first 2 games of the 4-game set. Go figure.

Matos, for some reason, threw an "euphus pitch" ... and often. I don;t think I ever made contact with it.

You had to be thinking Kennedy was going to hit into a DP. *grin*

Absolutely.  I can honestly say I've never played a season like this one before.  There is just no way to tell what's going to happen in each individual game.  No rhyme or reason whatsoever.

No lead (for me) is safe, but on the other hand I've held teams to 1 or 2 runs the entire game.  Wins and losses are a complete toss up, but it's definitely been interesting.

Just wanting to let those who are following that I've been extremely busy this weekend and have fallen a couple of games behind.  I'll be getting caught up in the next couple of days, but actually had a little time to try out some new templates, thanks to redsox for the idea.  I realize they resemble what's used for The Show, but if I get to the playoffs somehow I may work on them and let them evolve into something a little more original.

Congrats on the win! Tough loss with Kennedy though especially down the stretch.. hopefully you can get another W here and take the division lead!

Thanks man, but to be honest, I'm not sure if I consider it that much of a loss.   :D  Kennedy has been clutch at times, but he's barely hitting the ball these days.

Maybe a change was due anyway.   B)

Brother, you gots some tired players.

At least Ellis is 100%. *grin*

I know man.  I'm afraid to substitute.  As a matter of fact, I'm afraid to pitch, swing, run the bases, take a pitch, hack...you name it.

I feel like I'm walking on a tight rope with each and every game.  This may have not been the prettiest season, but it's definitely been the most stressful.

I can't believe I've held these guys to 2 runs in the first 2 games.

[1] If you're not careful, you might end up outscoring your opponents for the year.

[2] That's a really good cyberface of Grady.

It's down to a 14-game season. Is there any way that this season ends up being anything other than a tie-breaker game?

I'm going to address this once again.  You are absolutely right, with 4 games coming up against Texas, and no days off in between, I'm going to have to play with a rag tag club in the last game of this Indian series.

Even with the tired players, getting these first 3 games and keeping up with the Rangers have been crucial.  I'll take the hit in Game 4 if that's what it takes.

Seattle will probably stun the masses and go 14-0 the rest of the way.

I seriously wouldn't even flinch.

Wow, great AL West race you have going on. Those head-to-head games with Texas will be intense.

Thanks, bhurst.  Actually, I've been so busy trying to keep my head above water in the division, I didn't realize how tight the A.L. Wildcard was until I posted this last update.

As far as Texas, they've got the upper hand on me.  I'm 6-9 against them this year and just cannot seem to stay ahead of them in the division.  If I can at least split this series (4 games), I may have a shot.

These are BIG games JR. Take your time and focus on every pitch. Good luck. You can do it man.

I buckled down against the Indians and focused on each at bat.  For a first place team (Central), they were pretty weak at the plate. They could get on base, but I can't tell you how many jams I was able to get out of.  That said, I'm not necessarily sure it was dominating pitching, or just the fact that maybe I was "due".  Either way, with Texas on a another streak, I needed those wins.

Game 1

Game 2

Game 3

Game 4

On the other hand, Texas has pretty much owned me all season:

Apr 28 @ Texas: L, 4-1

Apr 29 @ Texas: W, 3-0

Apr 30 @ Texas: L, 3-1

May 6 Texas: L, 8-5

May 7 Texas: W, 7-1

May 28 @ Texas: W, 3-1

May 29 @ Texas: L, 6-1

May 30 @ Texas: W, 3-2

Aug 3 Texas: L, 4-2

Aug 4 Texas: W, 9-4

Aug 5 Texas: L, 3-1

Aug 6 Texas: L, 6-0

Sep 14 @ Texas: W, 3-2

Sep 15 @ Texas: L, 3-1

Sep 16 @ Texas: L, 9-5

Just like I've done all season, I'm going to give it my best and see if I can pull this thing out.  I'm still not convinced it can be done, I've hit too many losing streaks to have any kind of confidence.  I'm coming off of 4 straight wins, it's almost like the calm before the storm.
