If You Have Mvp 08 Installed, Do You Need A Custom Datafile?

I've been searching the forums and it seems like people have been recommending using KSM, MD, or True's datafiles. From what I take it, datafiles tweak the gameplay and the physics? So my question is, if I've already installed MVP 08, does that already have the tweaks installed? Would it be ok to just start tweaking the sliders or do I need to install one of those datafiles and then adjust the sliders? Thanks in advance.

It depends on what you're looking for. The thing I like about the datafile is that I could delete the foul ball PIP (God knows why that's in there to begin with). I've been using MD's and really like it. The only criticism I have about it is that the ball can many times hit too close in front of home plate on a grounder and then occasionally bounce over the 1st or 3rd baseman's head.....just not realistic.

You don't need a custom datafile for any mod that is out there. It's your choice to put it in if you want.

I guess what I'm wondering is if MVP 08 contains the default datafile from MVP 05 or a custom one. I want a change, so if custom datafiles change the physics and gameplay then I'd definitely want to install one!

The datafile.txt (which is inside the datafile.big) for MVP 08 is a custom datafile. Not the one from default MVP 05.

If you wish to use a custome datafile, just download one, and copy it to the following folder: /MVPXX/data
