apocalypse
I'm not any kind of tech wiz and I don't have anything to do with this mod, but there is a program called HDR which allows us to use more "modern" graphics in the modded NHL 2004. It "smoothens" the graphics and from the *.ini file you can edit all kinds of variables simply with a notepad. I just tested it on my MVP 2005 and I got the game running with this mod just ok... but I'm not sure if I saw that much graphical improvement.... but in our modded NHL 2004 we get significant graphics improvements... regarding reflection, smoothness, etc. It "modernizes" your game a little. I also got much better graphics from Pro Evolution Soccer 5, which is another classic older sports game title. HERE are my settings that I use in NHL 2004. UnRAR to your \MVP 2005 installation folder. Be aware that this mod requires at least somewhat modern system and a good graphics card. Integrated POS won't work... you need an external, proper card... otherwise you'll get jerky gameplay. If you get jerkiness, simply delete those two files from the install folder... simple as that. It won't affect to any registry, etc. files at all. So there shouldn't be any risk to ruin your installation or anything like that...!! HERE is the author's site. I'm pretty sure you have discussed this before but if not... you guys might want to give it a shot...!!
Yankee4Life
Is this the bloom mod that was all the rage not that long ago? If so, we have it on the site.

Ah... it's probably the same one then...!! Makes my post useless then. Did you get any kind of improvements out of it?

Yes, in fact we have four different versions of the Bloom mod that we have for download. I really enjoy it.
apocalypse
Cool... I will check those... as my settings didn't affect the looks of the game much at all. That's very good mod though... it works with most older games with a charm.
Cavicchi
What kind of improvements did you get and with which version? Also, is this mod all right to use with MVP 08?
Yankee4Life
What kind of improvements did you get and with which version? Also, is this mod all right to use with MVP 08? This can be used in any total conversion mod for MVP.
MilkmanAnt
Is there any screens showing the difference?
apocalypse
I don't have screenies for MVP2005... at least not yet... but these are rebuilt NHL 2004 screenies with the HDR mod... quite difficult to describe the difference... but it increases the "smoothness" and "crispiness" at the same time... the overall quality of the graphics. It won't "change" your game... it just "polishes" it. You can also define how much reflection and smoothness you want to have from the ini file. Not sure if it affects MVP that much because NHL has ice reflections and all that stuff... I can also see the details (stiches etc.) from the jersey textures more clearly with it. It's extremely easy to try yourself... just grab one of those mods and simply put 2 files to your game folder. Those files are very small. If it causes performance probs just delete the files. I will examine those versions that are designed for MVP later...as I didn't get much out of my own settings with this game....!!
