I've played MVP for hundreds of hours from 2005 to 2007. Now i installed the game again since MLB2k9 sucks.

I just run the game, everything works fine. The Menu works fine. But whenever i try to play a game, it crashes and it says: MVP2005.exe doesnt work. I really want to play to this game, so please help me out here.

Much Thx in Advance

Ok, a couple of questions.

1. What system are you now running? Maybe before when you were playing this you had XP and now you are running Vista. That may have something to do with it.

2. Where did you download the game?

1. I am running it with Vista now, used to be XP.

2. I didnt download the game. I bought it 4 years ago.

I havent installed any mods yet. Im not really sure when the problem happened for the first time, but i know the game was already installed on my computer back then and im not sure if it occured on XP or Vista for the first time.

Also, i tried to install, uninstall for many times. Did not work. I have no clue what to do next to try to get it right, thats why im asking it here.

Im from Holland so if my English isnt always perfect, you know why.

Don't know if it'll help but it helped me.

When I installed the game and then the MODS it didn't run as smoothly as I'd like.

So I read some threads here and learned that the game is better installed (I guess) when you use the Total Installer Thingy (TiT). Just use it to install the MVP 08 MOD - if that's the one you want - and then the program will get the files from the cds and will be able to install it.

If that doesn't work, sorry man.

Yeah thanks for the help, but my game doesnt even work without mods. So that wont help me.

Thanks anyway.

Back to the error. Any new suggestions how to fix this?

Did you try to install the game in another computer? Try it. If the game runs, then it's your pc, probably the OS.

Good luck, man.

OS = operating system. Vista or XP, for example.

Since the game works on your brother PC, then it's very likely to be your PC the troubled one.

If you can, try uninstalling Vista and put back XP. People say XP is better for games than Vista.

Other than that, I can't help you. I'm also a noob when it comes to PC and systems and whatever.

Just hope somebody might have an answer in the forum. ;)

Try right clicking on the shortcut for MVP and clicking on properties. Click on the compatibility tab and check the box where it says run this program in compatibility for windows xp. Some of my old games will only run in xp mode. If that doesn't work try right clicking on the shortcut and click on run as administrator.

Try running the game in administrator mode. That always works for me. Sometimes when I don't run the game in administrator mode it does not work and I get that error also.

Your English is fine by me.

Sometimes I run my game on administrator mode, sometimes I don't. What's the big difference, I mean, why the game works better on the admin mode?

Thanks

Beats me man. I was just trying to help the original poster get it working. I just put windows 7 on my Pc, upgrading from XP, and I haven't installed MVP yet, but some of my older games didn't work until I ran them in XP mode.

I cant recall having problems with other old games such as GTA Vice City, even GTA 3:P, and some others. I have tried it with the administratormode, didnt work. I have tried it with all possibilities in the compatibilitytab as well.

Even though this isnt working, Thx all for trying :good: !

Anyone here who had the same problem and fixed it, or anyone else who knows the answer to my question, pls post.

Thank you all.
