Negro League Mod

I am not sure if this was discussed before because I am fairly new to the site but has anyone every thought about making a mod with the Negro Leagues. Now I know that some people really don't care about those leagues but they had some of the best players and teams in the Leagues prime years. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy the Total Classics mods that are out but I have only found that there is only one Negro Team in all of the mods. I am not asking for a whole mod dedicated to the Negro Leagues but there were good teams in the league and that adding more than one team would be a good thing for the next mod. Also I anyone considers doing a mod and would like some help with researching stats for more Negro League teams let me know.

Yes, this has been talked about since the days that Fuzzone was a daily visitor to this site. He always wanted to do one but one of his biggest obstacles was getting the correct stats for the players during those years. Many of these stats do not exist. I believe this was the thing that prevented him from doing this.

Yeah I kinda figured that the stats might be hard to get a hold of but we could try to get the best possible stats available a go with that. I know it would take alot of work but I am willing to help as much as possible.

Yeah, good stats do not exist. There are some good references out there though. "The Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Baseball Leagues" is one of my favorites.

I have created about 35 players for a mod I have (both on High Heat, and MVP). The best I could do was research the players I wanted. Find white MLB players they were compared to most by their peers, and in the print media of the time. Then, use the stats that are available to find a comparable season by the white MLB player, and create them using those numbers.

It's not all together realistic, but the fact I am truly ignorant of what real numbers they put up, I have no issues believing them to be pretty close to the real thing.

Doing this for an entire league, or at least numerous teams would be an undertaking. Plus, mine were 35 of the greatest of all time. They are much easier to find data, and comparisons for then the role players would be.
