I'm trying to make this week's trades in the game and some teams don't have the budget room to take on the big contracts (Freddy Sanchez, Scott Rolen, Matt Holliday, Julio Lugo, et al). Is there a way in the guts of the game (in MVP Edit or somewhere) to adjust the budget #s up for some teams? I know I can adjust the players' salaries, but I'd only be doing it for some, plus I wonder if it would goof things up in the offseason. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

CircleChange11 Posted August 1, 2009 Share Posted August 1, 2009 Regardless of how the trades are made, if the salaries are not edited to fit the budgets, won't the teams make roster changes to be 'under budget', once budgets are turned back on? Jaxen Posted August 3, 2009 Author Share Posted August 3, 2009 Guys, I tried shutting off the budgets then made the Cardinals moves (Holliday, Lugo, etc) then turned the budgets back on ... and the game adjusted their budget, instead of keeping where it was and plunging the Cards deep, deep into the red. So I made the rest of what were impossible moves and it did it for them too. Granted, the Cardinals, Marlins and a couple of teams that took on big contracts now have like $600k of cap room left in the game, but it did it seamless. I didn't think to look if the Pirates' got reset. As I made the moves to shed Wilson, Sanchez, Gorzelanny, et al, before I had to shut off budgets, they were up to $20M in cap room.
