Yep, it goes in the data folder. Good luck, and like I said, let me know how they work out for you.

Ok will definately give it a go. If you dont see a reaction it will be because i have bought a ps3slim 250gb bundle with uncharted 2 :yahoo:

From the reviews i read that must be some game.

In december my buddy will bring me mlb 09 the show. I actually felt strange about that if you can believe it. Like being unfaithfull to MVP.

My wife is right....i am crazy.

Anyway, i guess i will be playing both games in the future, now way im giving up on mvp, it has too much going for it.

According to Jim i cant just put your sliders in that folder and have them in the game. Gonna give it a go anyway and see what happens.

Actually that isn't quite right. The datafile.txt file would be copied to your data folder, but the slider settings listed in the pro slider set.txt file will have to be manually entered into the game by editing your gameplay settings. I don't believe that the game can read slider settings in from a file.

You are right. I placed the file to the folder but all my sliders are still set to zero.

Back to the drawingboard......

Yep, sorry elfdutch, it's been awhile since I've messed with it. Thanks for the backup, Jim! :drinks:

BTW, as soon as I'm done with Fallout 3, I should have Unchartered under the tree just in time. Sounds awesome. :good:

Fallout 3, thats a first person shooter, right? I dont play those cause they make me sick. Not because of morals, but they literally make me sick.

Something to do with too much movement on the screen really makes me want to throw up. Told ya i'm crazy.

Back on the mvp topic : if i cant use your slider text file, can you give me more info on your slider settings? I can the input them manually and see how they work out.

EDIT : Nevermind, i opened the file and there it was. Going to try them out and see what happens

By the way, i have just been reading most of your dynasty thread. Fantastic to read. Too bad i didnt follow it "live" but even after the fact its very fun to see what happened to the a's.

Makes me want to do a more realistic approach on my own dynasty. For example, i'm still playing with the rosters of the 08 mod, which should be very outdated at this time.

Also i dont have the 09 schedule. Am i correct to assume that if i update my roster and change my schedule, my dynastie will crash?

If so i will start a new one and just sim the first 30 games. At least that way i have most things up to date. I will also be implementing your sliders and see how they work out.

About those sliders : will they have any less impact just because i am not using your datafile?

I dont know exactly what influence a datafile has besides altered cams. I do know that the datafile i have makes pitching more difficult then the standard 08 version. I have almost no green with any pitcher, and some relievers have very small yellow bars, making pitching a real challenge.

Bought the ps3 slim 250gb with uncharted 2 bundle. Quite a game, although i have only played the 1st 10 minutes.

I immediately downloaded the mlb09 the show demo and played 2 games.

Graphics are amazing as expected. Love the sound of the bat hitting the ball. Dont like the pitching....too random.

I know its too early to tell, but 1st impressions are often the right ones : this will not take me away from mvp baseball.

Just wanted to let you know that i haven't tried your sliders yet. I have been emerged in Uncharted 2 all this time. I'm too blown away about the game, the graphics, the environment to play any other game at this time.

I'll give it a go once the game is out of my system, i think i need rehab (nooo nooo noo)

I'm still playing MVP 2005 on the Gamecube. I've kept the rosters updated and altered ratings each year. I'm still trying to edit all the relievers who had 20 or more appearances. I enjoy doing that as much as playing the game itself.

I have MVP 2005 on Gamecube, and keep the rosters/stats updated manually. I can't change stadiums, uniforms, or faces...but I love the game and still play it everyday.

I have played 2K10. All the reviews said it's MUCH better than 2K9, but still not up to The Show. It's definitely pitching-heavy and was beautiful. BUT...I didn't like it more than MVP. THe right-analog was fine...just seems too tedious and a little deliberate.

They've got the actions down pretty good, but it's a hair slow. I think with more work, they can make it more fluid...if they don't change the engine. I don't know. It's a good game, pleasant to play, but I'm not going to give up MVP to play it.

I still play MVP Baseball 2005 for the PC. Need to find updated rosters for 2010 though. And updated stadiums, and uniforms.

Don't you worry about that. A roster set will be coming out when the season starts.
