Given that it's rare to find someone whose English is perfect when it's their first language, it's probably not a great idea to criticise others for errors when English is their second language.

I wish I had the capability to learn and become functionally adept at a second language.

I agree.  As a matter of fact, I (we) translate for a living and have owned our own business for some time now.  Our target/source languages include: English, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and German.  I can remember being interested in languages since I was very, very young, and was fascinated enough to start learning even then.

One thing I've learned throughout the years, if anyone ever thinks they've mastered even their own language, they're sadly mistaken.

Exactimundo, Joe. Let he who can tell the difference between "your" and "you're", spell and punctuate correctly and use correct grammar every single waking moment of the day cast the first stone.
