Season Mode? Will we be able to control all teams?

I've looked through the threads and can't find a definitive answer. (Maybe there isn't one  )

But.. I've seen the write ups on the new "Owner Mode" and saw some reference to MVP 2004's "Dynasty Mode" but has anyone seen or heard anything about benig able to either control all the teams (like updating rosters, etc) in Dynasty mode or will there possibly be a Season mode like in NBA live?

I'm hoping.. It was so frustrating last year not to be able to realistically update teams during the year. (Once you started your Dynasty)

Any news?

Thanks. I scoured the interview with Brent Nielsen but couldn't get a hint as to whether or not we'd have greater flexibility. We can only hope. Maybe closer to release we'll get a definitive answer.

the good news is that Madden allowed this for 2005. The game is not made by the same people though. Anybody know if NHL 2005 had this option? Just hoping...

in my opinion, this game is absolutely worthless unless ea changes the franchise mode to allow you to play any game with any 2 scheduled teams instead of with just one team. that's why i uninstalled this game after trying to play it and went back to high heat even though it doesn't look as good. i can't see playing any sports game without the ability to be able to play a league game with any 2 scheduled teams.

You want to play with more than one team per season?

I'm not exactly sure about Yukon2 and the two team thing, but I know that a lot of us want to be able to CONTROL more than one team. That is, update the rosters, keep up with injuries, change batting orders, pitching rotations, etc. in order to make the game as realistic as possible. The Dynasty version, in my opinion really sucked in that regard last year.

For me, and I know everyone has their particular preferences, not being able to do that might keep me from purchasing the game. I loved the graphics and all but I want to follow the real season as closely as I can to see how my team measures up to the "real boys."

What I can't understand is why MVP is one of the only, if not the only EA Sports game that doesn't allow you to do this. NBA Live does, Madden does.. why not baseball?

what i meant was - if you wanted to play a scheduled league game right now and, lets say, your team is boston, you can only play boston's games in franchise mode. that sucks. let's say st.louis was playing atlanta - i'd like to be able to play that game if i wanted to, but the way franchise mode is set up, i can only play boston's games and not any other scheduled league game. out of franchise mode, i can play a game with any two teams, but it is an exhibition game and standings and stats aren't kept - that's fine for some joystick jockey who wants to play like he's in an arcade, but i'm looking for realistic baseball

AMEN AND AMEN.. especially on the "realistic baseball" front.

We can only hope..

realistically if you're the GM or owner of the Red Sox, you're not going to have any control over what happens in a StL/Atl game.

Yeah, I'm a bit confused too. What exactly do you want to do? Are you basically saying that you would like to play exhibition games within your dynasty? :?

Edit: Oh wait, I think I get it now!

You can do this in NCAA, you basically want to be able to play your teams games, but also have the option of playing any other game that is on the schedule for that day. To make it a user-controlled game, instead of a simulation. One question, why does it matter if it's in franchise mode or not? I don't think I've ever played in any of those games, I just let the computer do it's thing.

At a minimum, if my team does not make the playoffs or World Series, I'd like to "watch" those cpu vs cpu games. Now, the only option is to sim the rest of the playoffs.

When i was in Iraq in 2003 xbox was our only relief. My whole Platoon was playing ncaa and madden was released before we came home. Let me tell ya controlling more than one team is more vital than you think.
