Adding Portraits With Tit - Game Aborts

I'm trying to add some portraits to the TC 1964

Step1

I open the the mde file with MVPEDIT

I change the players audio and Photo # from 0 to my Portrait FSH #9997

Step2

I run the installer thingy

I select Install Portraits option

I copy the 9997.fsh file to the Portrait directory when asked to

(I created the FSH file using Portrait Maker 1.5)

The process runs and completes

Step3

I start the game and it crashes before the main menu

Any thoughts?

I've noticed the same thing when trying to add portraits with TiT. For some reason it does something strange and the size of my portrait.big file is reduced from about 190 Mbytes to 2 Mbytes and the game crashes when you try to run it. I've tried this multiple times and always get the same result.

If you are just adding one portrait, you can just do it with MVPEdit as follows:

1. Using nfshtool, extract the portrait's .bmp file from the .fsh file you created.

2. Open up MVPEdit, select Tools-> Options on the menubar and select "Show and in the options, select, "Show Player Portrait." Make sure that you also have your Data Directory selected properly.

3. Find your player in MVPEdit, click on the square where the portrait shows up and click on it.

4. When the Update Photo window appears, click on "New Picture", select your photo and when it appears, click the OK button.

Your picture should now appear with the player.

Thank for the info

I've tried using the MVPEdit to load the (BMP) photos. When clicking on OK after loading the photos - the photo disappears.

The Photo never appears in the game.

Thoughts?

Did you make sure that the photo is sized 128 x 128 pixels? If it is not that exact size, it will not work properly.

Hmm. I have done an entire roster set, and added photos using tit. Never have had a problem yet.

1 Create the fsh file using portrait maker.

2 Zip up all the fsh files in a zip folder. Make sure you dont zip up a folder, with another folder inside containing the fsh. Make sure you zip THE folder containing the fsh files.

3 Install using tit.

I have found that if you have a folder with the fsh files, zipped up inside another folder, it wont work. I don't ever remember it causing a crash though.

Stupid question - did you make sure to compress the file with Portrait Maker?

Also, I've made thousands of portraits for this game using Portrait Maker and installing them with EA Graphics Editor. Never had a problem, maybe give that a try.
