tyger
This is not ment to complain about 2k9's game, I actually enjoy the game, even with all the trouble that I went through to be able to play it now. So this story begins when tk first decided to release the game for computers, at this point I didn't have any consoles and had no intention of purchasing one so I was exited about the prospect of a new game. I loved MVP but the thought of a brand new game with different features that could not or had not been modded into MVP exited me. So the first day it was released I went out to the store to purchase a copy, first wal-mart (didn't find a copy there) then circuit city(no copy there) then game stop(no copy on the shelf). So I asked someone at gamestop and they had a copy just hadn't put it on the shelf yet. So I payed the 20 bucks and sped home ready to play it. Once I got home I put it into the computer installed it and started it up to play. All I got was a black screen. Turns out my graphic card wasn't good enough to play the game. Knowing very little about graphics cards I thought why not get a new graphics card I have a few other games that need better graphics cards to be able to play on my comp. So I spend 80 dollars on a graphics card for my computer. When I try to instal it in my computer find that that graphics card does not work with my computer slot to plug it in wasn't the proper size. Total spent for MLB 2K9: $100. So I gave up and went all summer with MVP although having increasing crashing problems. A few weeks ago I finally decided to spring for an xbox, more to play ncaa football then anything else. However I relize I can now buy MLB2K9 for the xbox so I go to best buy and purchase the game for $40 start it up and it plays fine, for a little while however during my first game I get up to get some water and trip over the xbox, which moves the xbox and causes the spinning MLB 2K9 to be scratched in the xbox (horrible design flaw in my opinion). The next day I search all around town to find a disc repair kit (not easy to find), finally I find one for $20. total spent: $160. Which of course does not work because the scratch was too deep in the disc as I had suspected. So I then buy a used MLB2K9 from gamestop for $30. Bringing the grand total spent for MLB2K9 to $190. SeveredSoulX
This reminded me of one time that I read a story about someone's life sucks...it makes me feel better...sorry that it sucks for you, but have you ever heard of, returning a video card? Might have saved you time...and next time, don't play with water and electricity...

bigpapifan
Well, you should have stayed with MVP Anyway, enjoy 2K9, man.
tyger
I ended up giving the video card to my brother, didn't mean to come of as complaining just thought it was a funny story. Me being retarded, that's a little harsh. More just dumb and unlucky. I think an xbox should be able to be knocked an inch without scrathing the disc to hell. CD players don't have that problem, my computer doesn't have that problem but who knows maybe i should just be smart enough not to leave it in the center of the floor. MilkmanAnt
I hope that you are able to recover financially, but on the other hand, I do believe this game is worth 5.

You should have checked ebay, I had (and still have) a pc copy (played only twice) for $15 shipped. I also have a new Madcatz xbox gamepad for $19 shipped. tyger
why shouldn't i broadcast my own stupidity on the internet, it's not like anyone here actually knows who I am, and even if they did I do stupid stuff sometimes, this is far from the dumbest. Even though it was my misfurtune i thought it was a comical story, maybe not, if i wasted your time by making you read this awful post i don't really care. As to me recovering financially, I don't think I will be able to, if anyone wants to donate money to help me out of the tradgety of losing 190 dollars i may be able to attempt this adventure again with 2k10

rolie
Same here, got copy gathering dust. Don't think I could sell it if I wanted to. I bought an xbox controller with it, which I'll use now with nba 2k10 out.
BigPaPa
Same here 2k9 is OK for a game ro two here or there but the simulation of progression and statistics is so terrible it makes it impossible to sustain a franchise.
