xiberger
In my latest dynasty, two of my players accomplished rare feats in baseball: - Third baseman Adrian Beltre homered in three consecutive at-bats on three pitches. I looked it up on the internet and, apparently, Reggie Jackson was the only MLB player in history who ever managed to do such a thing (in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series, by the way!). - My ace Roy Halladay won 20 games for the second time in his career, going 20-10. However, his 4.70 ERA is the second highest in AL history and the third highest in MLB history. Only Bobo Newsom (5.07 for STL in 1938) and Ray Kremer (5.02 for PIT in 1930) had seasons with 20 wins and a higher ERA than "Doc". What has been your rarest achievement in this game? Jim825
I watched that '77 World Series game on TV when I was 16 and saw Reggie hit those three home runs. It was a pretty amazing thing to see.
bigpapifan
- My ace Roy Halladay earned his second Cy Young Award by posting a record of 20-10. However, his 4.70 ERA is the second highest in AL history and the third highes in MLB history. Only Bobo Newsom (5.07 for STL in 1938) and Ray Kremer (5.02 for PIT in 1930) had seasons with a higher ERA than "Doc". Who was the runner-up on the Cy Young voting? Not to take anything away from "Doc", but that ERA...

xiberger
Who was the runner-up on the Cy Young voting? Not to take anything away from "Doc", but that ERA... Oops, my bad. Halladay didn't win the Cy Young Award. I meant to say that he had his second 20-win season. My thoughts must have been elsewhere when I wrote my original post. It has been corrected, though. Anyway, the CY Young Award went to none other than Walter Johnson of the Twins. The Big Train went 21-9 with a 2.33 ERA and 206 strikeouts. "Doc" finished third in the voting, if I'm not mistaken again.

I looked it up on the internet and, apparently, Reggie Jackson was the only MLB player in history who ever managed to do such a thing (in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series, by the way!). The blast to deep center of Hough was the most impressive of the 3 by Jackson. A good trivia question would be "Name the pitchers who served up Reggie's bombs". I think it was Welch and Hough. - My ace Roy Halladay won 20 games for the second time in his career, going 20-10. What has been your rarest achievement in this game? Probably something like 7 stolen bases by a single player. I know I achieved it during my Royals fantasy dynasty on xbox, I can;t remember who did it exactly, although I think it was Gaithwright. 2 grand slams in an inning (Tatis v. Park) would have to be among the rarest ... only happened once in MLB history. I've never come close to anything lke that on a video game.
bigpapifan
I'm playing TC 1946. The bases are loaded, only 1 guy out. The other team's guy singles to center field, and easily the guy on 3rd base scores, so my center fielder throws the ball to home plate to avoid the guy on 2nd base to score. However, as the ball is approaching the mound, it HITS the mound, goes all the way to 1st base, and everybody scores. I won the game after all, but that was a weird weird thing to happen. :D
