Wilson614318
I have been trying to mod my MVP Baseball 07 game. I've tried everything, from putting in new stadiums, new uniforms, roster updates, cyberfaces, and overlays, and they dont seem to appear. I really need somebody's help because I've been trying really hard for these things to work. I always follow what the ReadMe says, and when I try out the game afterwards, I dont see no changes . Yankee4Life
First of all, the newest rosters will not work in the 07 mod. Only because the newest rosters are made for the 08 mod which you do not have. There have been manychanges in the rosters from the 07 to the 08 mod and what I mean by that is that a lot of players from the 07 mod are not in the 08 mod. And for your information in case you ask, the 08 mod is not available for download anymore. It's not on EAmods and I don't know where you will get it. Now, for adding a new overlay or a new stadium, that's a different story. You can add a new stadium in any version of Mvp baseball. If you are having trouble with these two things that means that you are doing something wrong. Here is a quick walk through that I advise anyone if they want to update a stadium in the game. Let's say for example you want to update Wrigley Field in Chicago with the latest Wrigley that Trues released this past August. I am using this example here because I know this version of Wrigley is not in the 07 mod. This is what you do: 1. Download the updated stadium. 2. Go into the DATA/STADIUM folder and find the file called WRIGDAY.BIG (This is the day version of Wrigley Field.) 3. Rename that file that is in that directory to WRIGDAY.BIG.BAK (This is a backup version of that file now. I'll explain why I do this in a minute.) 4. Next, put the new stadium that you just download in that same DATA/STADIUM folder. That file will also be called WRIGDAY.BIG. 5. Now, get in your game and play a game in Wrigley Field using the day version of that ballpark. You will still see Wrigley Field of course, but it will look different because of all the updates that Trues added to it. 6. Ok, once you are able to play a game in the updated stadium, you can go back in your DATA/STADIUM folder and delete the file called WRIGDAY.BIG.BAK because you only made that just in case there was a problem with using a newer version of the ballpark on your system. That's it. Simple as that. I follow these guidelines and I have never had a problem using a stadium at any time. For overlays, it is just about the same procedure. 1. This time go in the DATA/FRONTEND folder and look for two files. A.) IGONLY.BIG B.) INGAME.BIG 2. Once you find them, back them up like you did to the stadium file. Rename it IGONLY.BIG.BAK and INGAME.BIG.BAK. 3. Then, once that is done, download the overlay of your choice and place it in the DATA/FRONTEND directory and you will have a different overlay once you get back in your game. Here's a little tip for you that I use for my own game. I save the overlays that I replace. I create a directory and place the overlay in there. I name it, place a screenshot in the directory and in that way if I want to go back and use that overlay again, I can go right back there and grab it. I hope this helps. Yankee4Life
CRAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPP! It still isn't working, what could I be doing wrong? I have no idea, but it has to be something you are doing. I gave you some very detailed directions here. Maybe someone else can come in here and give it a shot.
Jim825
CRAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPP! It still isn't working, what could I be doing wrong? Without knowing exactly what you are doing, we can't diagnose your problem. Give us a step-by-step explanation of how you are trying to update your files and we'll see if we can figure out what is going on.

Give us a step-by-step explanation of how you are trying to update your files and we'll see if we can figure out what is going on. Well, when I try to put in a new stadium, for example, I download the stadium from MVPMods. Then I just unzip the stadium file into an empty folder. Then, I drag the two BIG. files, the nite. and the day. to my EA Sports/MVP Baseball 05/data/stadium folder. Then I drag the two Text files in the datafile folder. And finally i drag the stadiums select file in the frontend folder.

The two .txt files should go in the the data folder, not the datafile folder. The stadiums select file (assuming that it is just an updated version of stadiums.big file) does go in the frontend folder. Other than the .txt files, it sounds like you are doing things right. When you restart the game, do you test the updated stadiums in an exhibition game or are you trying to continue a dynasty?

Jim825
I know I'm grasping at straws here, but how many instances of MVP2005 do you have installed -- Just one or do you have others (e.g. Total Classics, MVP 2008 mod, etc.)? Could you be copying the files to the wrong place such that when you start the game you are starting the wrong (i.e. unmodified) version? After you drag the stadium files to the data \ stadium folder, have you looked at the folder with Windows Explorer and checked the date stamp of the files to make sure that they got copied over properly? MarkB
FWIW, I'm thinking multiple installations as well.

MarkB
Are you sure you're placing the modded stadium in the right directory? For example, if you want to play '07 with a modded Yankee Stadium, you have to put the yankday.big and yanknite.big in the stadium sub-folder that you execute the '07 mod from. If you're unsure, try copying the modded stadium to the stadium directory in both the '05 and '07 installations, then play one and see if you get the modded stadium or the original one. I have been putting this in my 07' directory, and I still dont see any changes ("/)

DylanBradbury
None This is just a total shot-in-the-dark, but your files aren't marked "Read-Only" are they?

I would have thought so too, but it's sorta like the Purloined Letter, the most obvious place to check is the last place checked.

Wilson614318
I see that the files in my data folder of my MVP 07 directory are actually read-only files.
