osfan5891
So we all know the outfield is just terrible in this game. Is there a "best way" around this? Every ball hit on a line drive to left field always goes right past the fielder...and no it's not because Felix Pie is out there. I wasn't sure if there was a sliders adjustment or anything out there or something that best remedies this issue.

I wasn't sure if there was a sliders adjustment or anything out there or something that best remedies this issue. Unfortunately there is no way around it. The patch seemed to fix the first baseman 'pulling his foot off the bag' issue, but that's really about it. Sad really, it's obvious the game does have potential. The audio commentary, pitching/batting interface, and next gen graphics really make for a decent foundation for a good PC baseball game. I'm holding out hope 2K tightens the screws and patches this game up in the '10 version. By the time they release next year's version this coming March, it means they would have had a year to fix this game. Hopefully they lay off of trying to sell any new "features" and just fix the damn thing.
tks
osfan... I have not experienced the problem you indicated. However, I admit I do not allow myself to manually field even though the game is set up that way. For example, when a ball is hit to my left fielder, I hit the button that changes the manual fielder. In my case I use the Xbox 360 controller and hit the "A" button which changes the designated fielder to the next closest player (centerfielder)...The AI then controls the leftfielder and the catch is made. I quickly learned I was not adept enough to accurately field a ball hit to the game's manual player. Based on all the comments I have read throughout the year, I may be one of the few that has not had any meaningful problems with 2k9. I find it a very playable and enjoyable simulation...Anyway, try letting the computer do the fielding for you and see if you still are having this problem. This sounds like a very good idea, and I will certainly exersize it in the future. Thanks for the input! And outfield glitches and learning curves aside, I completely agree with you. I enjoy playing 2k9 and for me it has replaced the MVP series. I find it very enjoyable IMO
