pfunk880
I personally like Madden more, although I heard good things about ESPN. I guess I just trust EA to give me a better product since they've been in it for so long and I am accustomed to their games. That's fine, and that is why this exclusivity mess that EA opened up sucks. LetsGoOakland
That's fine, and that is why this exclusivity mess that EA opened up sucks. The NFL came to EA with the exclusive rights and EA did what they had to do to keep their top selling product.
pfunk880
The NFL came to EA with the exclusive rights and EA did what they had to do to keep their top selling product.Guess you must have missed my post from before. Actually, EA did approach the NFL first, the NFL just didn't offer the exclusive license until this year. I'll even give you a direct quote on it this time. "We (EA) have proposed exclusivity several times in the past, but this year, in the spring the NFL had an off-site meeting, and they decided to consider bids for exclusivity.," Brown told IGN in an exclusive interview. http://sports.ign.com/articles/572/572886p1.html Straight from the horse's mouth... EA has been pushing for this prior to the NFL coming to them.

And Sega is doing what THEY now have to do to keep selling sports products, period. RedSoxFox7
The NFL came to EA with the exclusive rights and EA did what they had to do to keep their top selling product. I keep seing you repeat this, but it's wrong. EA started it. EA attempted to get the exlusive rights last year, after Playmakers had already run. It had nothing to do with the NFL being mad at ESPN for the series. EA brought an offer to the table months ago, and the NFL finally came back with their counter offer. You're lying to yourself if you don't believe this exclusivity mess didn't start because of EA. I like EA, I think their football and baseball titles are superior to Sega's, but the fact remains, EA started this entire mess.
